SOLD: Fischer 189cm S-Bound 98

Update: SOLD I got these in the fall of 2020, in the hope that these would be stiffer than my (2015) S-Bound 112, and softer than the Traverse 78 equivalent Alpina skis. Turns out these are softer than my S-Bound 112 skis, so I never even put bindings on them, and ended up getting a pair of Asnes In...

Re: Peltonen Metsa Step Ski Review Metsäsukset

Long review short, these mythical beauties are FABULOUS. 270cm of pure fabulous glide. 270cm of smooth forest bliss. MORE flotation and MORE stability than Voile's fatty Vectors, but without sacrificing speed and glide on the flats. Amazing and surprising geometry, amazing and surprising flex. Can ...

Over at REI it looks like a lot of negative reviews of the Alpina Alaska (non XP model) about the sole glue coming undone ?? Any review of owners of the Alaska boots from the users here on the forum ?
That issue seems to be limited to the 75mm version of the Alpina Alaska boot.

Re: Good ski for touring in mountainous New England terrain

so Ragged's got some Asnes skis, excellent news! Is this the first year? What other models did they get? I saw the Amundsen / Liv, Nansen / Cecilie, Ingstad / Tonje, the FT62 Xplore, and one more of their more downhill oriented skis, maybe the Rabb? I special ordered a pair of Gamme through them, w...

Re: When should I consider stripping my kick wax and starting fresh again?

I'm new to waxing this season. Never owned waxable skis before. Asnes Gamme. Absolutely loving them. I've put roughly about 30 km on them over 10 days in a variety of conditions, polar the length of the ski with 3 corked on layers of either Swix green, blue, or red silver applied in the kick zone. ...

Re: Considering the Gamme

The bases come clean from Asnes. I wouldn’t use any glide wax at all. You’re not racing. I have glide waxed, but much prefer utilizing Swix white polar as my glide wax. Hot wax doesn’t hold kick wax well. When you need to extend the wax forward, it doesn’t adhere well to glide wax. I get around thi...

Re: Åsnes Gamme

OK, I have only taken my Gamme skis out three times so far, and on pretty hard compacted snow on a local farm field that gets groomed. I have noticed that the Gamme skis go a lot faster than my Sondres, E99 and E89 class skis, or any other ski I have, for that matter. Strava says the first time I to...
