Re: Unapologetic love note to the Fischer E99

e99.jpg Was looking at this pair of mountain crown e99 for $75. Don't know what year they were? Is this a good version of the legendary e99? Thanks for any advice. I know I'm a year late with this reply, but I picked up a pair of those exact E99 skis this summer, and they are fantastic. Stable, fas...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Skiing the Franconia Notch bike path yesterday, with Woodserson and Plow. We started at Flume Gorge, and admired the views along the way, making our way past The Basin, Lafayette Campground (great views of the mountains), Profile Lake, and two Old Man of the Mountain viewing sites. Lots of rolling h...

Re: fischer europa 99 vs e99

any opinions on how europa 99s would compare against e99s at this point in time? did fischer improve manufacturing? is the crown pattern on europa99 crowns equivalent to e99 crowns? does the camber wear out over the decades? thanks for any help. PS i do realize that transnordic 66 is current model,...

Re: Asnes Ingstad vs. Fischer S-bound 98?

Re: X-skins: “The main downside I find is on very hard and icy snow, the plastic attachment pushes the front of the ski off the snow and makes it much more squirrely.” This was regarding Nansen. But I'm wondering if that would happen with a short Ingstad. It should not happen anywhere near the same...

Re: Åsnes Nansen Waxless

A few observations after 5 years of skiing on different Nansen lengths... (190, 195 and 205) First, I really wish the balance point was moved back a few centimeters... it would be even more fun... And obviously, the waxless pattern is NOT long enough on the Nansens... The waxless pattern seems to b...

Re: Asnes Nansen Review: Smooth and Predictable

I fully stand by my conclusion that for skiers 180lbs or less this would make an excellent one-ski-to-do-it-all. It's not that heavier skiers won't like it but then you start getting into pool-cover/banana syndrome in deeper snow, it really depends on what you want out of it. Fantastic, accessible,...

Re: How messed up are my skis after this bungled mounting job

The slight bowing of the plastic bits to the heel pad is normal. I am taking opportunity of this thread, as I just have NNNBC manual mounted by local serviceman. The front part and the heel piece are ok, tighty flat on ski, but what I am having some doubts, is a little gap under the part with ridge...

Re: Advice for beginner/low mountain range

#1 buying 2 Rottefellas Magnum with the Alpina Alaskas, BC1600 or Fischer BCX Transnordic boots (350$) – #2 waiting and hoping for the availability on Xplore bindings and shoes (750$ by 2 bindings) #3 buying some cheap second hand 75mm boots and just give it a try. (60$) and buying some Xplores lat...

But look at the DPS Pagoda... 105?
But they’re expensive, so they gotta be good, right?
The mind boggles at the price tag. Boggles.
It's like their sole purpose in life is making our Asnes skis look cheap.

Dear Asnes,

can you please make Gamme 2023 look less like a hobbit from LOTR?
Great, now I want second breakfast...
