Re: Fischer Transnordic BOOT

That heel strap-adjustment has been on Fischers BCX boots for many years (BCX6/BCX8)- it is there to tighten up the width and shape of the achilles section of the boot. I have it on my BCX6 (c2012). I understand but in my particular case I could not see how they could be of any help considering the...

Re: PSA: Another XC gear crunch in the offing for next season

Your ultimatum made me order some Traverse 78 187's from Neptune. I wonder if the Ingstad BC's that I ordered from Varuste on 10/27 will ever come, or if I should cancel them. I ordered a bunch of NNN-BC bindings from Varuste this summer. One more pair than they had left. Once they received new sto...

Cheers, Woodserson.

Um... how many skis do you own? You've got an answer from experience, for every question.

Re: Alternatives before buying Alaskas

I actuall tried them in the store today and I think the heel strap is useless ci side ring how stiff the boots are… but I tried to and they survived ;) How does the stiffness of the Fischer Transnordic compare to that of the Alpina Alaska? Is the lacing in the Fischer Transnordic enough to prevent ...

Didn't they used to call that "fast grass"?
I think it's called "attention seeking behavior."
I just call it "desperate for snow".

I have also called it "pick and glide", when searching the local golf course for paths across the snow that mostly avoid the grass :)

Re: Sbound 98s or 112s

I am trying to decide between the two. I ski in Western WY (Togwotee and Lander). The caveat is I’m a bigger guy at 265#. I’m an athletic build but still heavy. So do I go wider at 112, but the only length I could find was 179cm? Or do I go 98s at 189 cm? Thanks for the help and please let me know ...

Re: S bound 98 vs excursion 88

How come you didn't go for a 112? And I ski in leather boots these days, so I'm concerned that people don't feel comfortable using the edges with the width of the 112s without hard plastic boots when the powder is covering harder consolidated snow. If I were in T2s, I'd feel better about the extra ...

Re: XCd for kids

I will for sure go for something waxless or with permanent skin like the Hok. I am also thinking that I will use universal bindings from the Hok on the new skis. Does anyone have some advice for getting an 8 to 9 year old setup for XCd that will fit in a track but still edge and turn going downhill...

Re: Alpina va Fischer sizing

I don't personally find Alpina sizing "large"- at least not the Alaska BC (which is the only model I own with). The length of the footbed is consistent between all of the following size 42EU touring boots I own: My point? My limited experience is that the EU sizing is consistent in terms of footbed...
