Re: The new Rottefella XPLORE OFFTRACK Binding system

Pål Trygve Gamme recieved one of the first editions of the binding and boots, so A LOT has happened since then. I'm not really sure why Rottefella sent it to him at all, cause he can be a bit rough and biased in his reviews sometimes. In my optinon. What really puzzles me, is why this review got pu...

Re: Åsnes Waxless Skis

Hello Åsnes ski enthusiasts ❄ How do people feel about their Åsnes waxless skis? From the reviews I've read it seems the waxless skis as a standalone solution (without skins) have been lack luster. Hardly any of the reviewers on here appear satisfied with their grip uphill, with some resorting to u...

Re: Newish XC skier looking for suggestions on getting deeper out there

I would start with a ski similar to the S112 or S98. Its a waxless ski, reasonably priced, has very durable kicker ez skins. I have skiied 200+ days on them and have become a decent skiier. These fischer skis have very little camber and the waxless pattern makes the ski very slow, but easy to contr...

Re: Voile Switchback w/ Alico Ski March?

Any reason my Voile Switchbacks wont work with my Alico Ski March? I get that's an oversized binding for a leather boot - just wondering if the tension on the boot would destroy it sooner? I don't see why they wouldn't work. You just want to adjust the tension to be suitable for the softness of tho...

I will assume my comment will be approved.. so here is an accompanying photo of "center" mounted (or nearly, as in some were earlier and not fully committed)
Hey, that quiver looks familiar.

Re: wide waxless skis

So, seems like the Vagabonds are significantly stiffer than the Hypervectors at least (not sure how that translates to the Ultravectors). Am I correct in assuming that generally greater stiffness correlates with better K&G performance but presents more difficulty going downhill? If that's the case,...

Re: S-Bound 112s falling apart

Had them for several years, and think I'm very happy with them (haven't really compared with anything else)...but now the patterned part of the base is delaminating and pulling off (It is a separate piece, made from a different material than the sintered base.) Is this replaceable? Can I glue the o...

Re: Rottefella 3pin repeatedly breaking

Has anyone see this happen before? I'm going to replace it one more time (I already have the binding) but I'm switching my boot to an old pair of Asolo Extreme's from the '90s. I suspect that the bend of the T4 bill is causing a constant pressure on the clamp causing it to break. The bend of the bo...

Re: wax vs scales vs XSkin vs klister

So overall I am increasingly impressed with the X-skin system to cope with "warmer than Swix Blue" conditions as opposed to waxless. The main downside I find is on very hard and icy snow, the plastic attachment pushes the front of the ski off the snow and makes it much more squirrely. That may be a...
