Re: BCX TRANSNORDIC 75 waterproof

Hey everyone - I hope this is okay to post. Just heads up for anyone looking at these: Backcountry.com has these on huge sale right now, over $100 off on both the 75 mm and NNN-BC versions. But they don't have many sizes left in inventory. So if you are looking to get these and they have your size i...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

What's the status on the MFrees? So this happened today. 205cm of full cambered fury on groomed granular PXL_20210125_192146270.jpg Nice - I'm planning to go to the local resort for the first time on mine tomorrow. Do you run safety straps/leashes on your NNN-BC? I know I've read about spwath putti...

Re: Climbing skins vs kicker skins

Add me to the list of those looking for kicker skins for Eons. I have the waxable version, and I am ready to use klister (if I have to), but I wouldn't mind a kicker skin option. The Madshus kicker skins look good except for the width - insufficient according to reports I've read. The BD Nordic kick...

Re: Greetings from another XCDing Michigander

fisheater, I want to thank you with your wise comments regarding sticking to recommended ski lengths, and the ease of turning a single or camber and a half ski versus a traditional double camber XC ski. I surprisingly got the waxable Madshus Eon 62 skis from Minnesota (ordered at nearly half off fro...

Re: NNN BC Boots - Bent Toe Bar

Geez, how many of us were looking at our toe bars last night? I was as well, and I too noticed a slight bend at each end of each bar on my Alpina Outlander NNN-BC boots. They don't have many hard miles or falls on them, and there was no evidence of disturbance to the rubber boot sole where the bars ...

Re: Why didn't Alpina D 102's make it to the USA this year?

HermitsHut.com has some 178cm old stock still available. Was thinking of getting a pair, but full price at $350 is a bit steep for me. Kicking myself for not buying them when Sierra Trading Post had them for under $150. I e-mailed them to ask if they would mount bindings on them, but they told me t...

Re: The new Rottefella XPLORE OFFTRACK Binding system

Well I am mystified by the spring-pin design... I don't see how those pins won't FREEZE... It must work- if they have been tested in the Norwegian mountains- it must work... :?: Maybe they're sealed by o-rings or similar, so no water gets in? If the interior spring chamber gets slightly pressurized...

Re: Advice for telemark skis on hardpacck

Thanks, man. This is a whole can of worms. Which casino is best in deep snow? What’s the glide like on a casino on hardpack with a 35mm mohair kicker skin? Magnums? Cables? Will I be able to handle a full 500-square-meter casino in icy conditions given that it doesn’t have full wrap steel and it’s ...

Re: Why not talking of the real things?

Even on the manufacturers' website some of the basic specs are often missing. I get that camber is a bit harder to understand than just lengths, weights, widths, and sidecut, so from a marketing perspective I understand why it is often left out - even if it doesn't make sense from a knowledgeable us...
