Re: S-bound 98 and Nansen vs. Rabb 68
Hey @lilcliffy I'm curious why you went with the shorter length on the SB98? Interesting that you found it more stable on dense snow.

Re: Alpina Alaska 75 failure: again!
The thicker Vibram Outback sole would be the wiser choice, with no reports of failure that I'm aware of. who carries this boot? The Vibram Outback sole is used on the Crispi Svartisen, the Alico boots sold by Altai Skis and Fischer boots like the Transnordic. There may be others. Alpina is the only...

Re: Alpina Alaska 75 failure: again!
Alpina has blown it badly by using this thin sole in the first place. They are now doubling down by not only continuing to use it, but also not supporting their customers properly. The thicker Vibram Outback sole would be the wiser choice, with no reports of failure that I'm aware of. The only way t...

Re: The Legendary Karhu XCD Guide/Madshus Annum
@JB TELE agreed on the Madshus. When it's right, it's a ton of fun. On the firm stuff it makes my SB98 feel like a carver. No bueno. I got my M78 for $165, but I'm starting to understand why spending $750 for a Voile ski might be worth it. I have my eye on the Endeavor.

I switched over to HydroBloc, but still use my left over SnoSeal on gloves and choppers.

Re: Crispi Futura Pro feedback.
Im not sure yet if i am completely happy with these overall. I used them in a combined tour with steep climbs and descents mostly in powder and a bit on a hard snow, groomed slope. I liked the tour comfort a lot, but when I closed the power strap on the brace I got some nasty chafing on the downhil...

Re: Good deal? M68 2019/2020 skin 199€
I would say it is a good deal but not what they are stating. I'm going to switch to dollars. They are saying retail is $430 and they are selling for $215, so 50% off. Real retail is closer to $305. You can get the new model here https://www.bergsskishop.com/shop/p90888/panorama-m68-skis for $213.50 ...

Re: kom vs Fischer Sbound 125 advice please
It is interesting that people who tend to prefer the Rotte ST are also people who tend to have thin duckbilled boots like the Alaska, just sayin. I should have been more explicit- I prefer the 3-pin bale and clamp mechanism on the Rotte ST- I prefer it because I find it smoother, easier, more effic...
