Re: New rant... Backcountry/wide skis and telemarkers
Some folks get BC skis to tele on because they are generally lighter, softer, and easier to initiate a turn on than a skinny groomer destroyer. Fat skis can and do carve (very well) on groomers - you just have to lean them over. I'm not talking about a 140 underfoot fattypuss (even in super deep the...

Re: Hard wires or NTN? And what ski?
I apologize for my late reply..... NTN NTN NTN NTN NTN NTN NTN NTN NTN NTN NTN NTN Go NTN! If you like power, and carving, and control, and preciseness, releasability, brakes, etc ect etc then you should give NTN a try. There is a reason you will not see World Cup level racers on any 75mm gear anymo...

Re: NTN: Rottefella Freeride versus 22 Designs Outlaw Review
Hey, don't forget the Outlaws come from the folks that brought us the Hammerhead, the Vice and the Axl... ... Even though they both are sold as releasable, and release is physically possible, I consider them non-releasable, especially if you like them very active... ... The Hammerhead was brought t...

Re: TX Comp w/ Tech Toe
Spotted on a scarpa / 22designs / voile / jubilo / ect... athlete. In park city, UT. Personally, I'd like a carbon cuff with a walk mode that is somewhat similar to any light walking AT boot (atomic backland , Fischer transalp, dynafit tlt, ect...) I'd also like to see a redesigned lower. put more c...

TX Comp w/ Tech Toe
Aloha, Yesterday I spotted a Scarpa TX Comp with a tech toe. Didn't spot the heel. Was not allowed to take a pic. Anyone know anything about this? I also heard about updates for next year on the boots (real updates, not just color and buckles). Anyone hear anything about that? Hope you're all enjoyi...

Re: Rotten Freedom anyone?
If you want a softer more progressive flex, try the Outlaw. The Freedom is a nice softer option than the free ride, but the outlaw has that sweet smooth progressive flex feel of a hammerhead. Despite what folks say, the binders DO release! I've released out of freerides, freedoms, and outlaws... And...

Re: Of boots and such...
a bit late to the game but.. I guess I just don't see it going the other way. Is someone that can rip with fixed heels and stiff boots going to be able to jump right on leather and skinnies and rip? Unlikely at best. Would venture the same even if the heel is free. Now going the other way, say you c...
