Re: NTN Growing Pains
The idea of expectations actually makes a great deal of sense. I’ve been reading more about technique and trying to be more intentional about technique with my switch to NTN and it may really just come down to what I thought I should feel combined with my memory of my old super soft and broken in ge...

Re: NTN Growing Pains
While I did not try walk mode yet I did make sure the boot angle was completely forward, kept the top buckles relatively loose, and focused more on flexing the ankle on my lead foot and it felt much better. I was experimenting with a ski swap ski that is a little shorter and much more rockered than ...

Thanks, I appreciate it. I’m heading out to the hill tomorrow and will try some of these suggestions out.

Re: NTN Growing Pains
I appreciate the feedback. I’ll try skiing in walk mode that might be the ticket. It is definitely odd that the front foot is what feels off. The back feels fine. Definitely stiff but that is what I wanted and I am a big guy (225) so flexing it is fine. I’ve never skied a 4 buckle boot so that could...

NTN Growing Pains
Hi! You all were very helpful picking new gear and I have been out a half dozen times. Liking NTN quite a bit but Crispi WC Evos and 22 Designs Bandits are a far cry from 17 +year old Garmont Synergys and axle. Focusing on carving, my goal was more confidence on hard pack/ice and the power and edge ...

Re: Help going NTN
Thank you both! Much as I like the idea of the Meidjos sounds like I may prefer the reality of 22 designs. I didn’t really think about width and boot out. I was just looking through rose colored glasses and reminiscing about how quick my old 78 mm T3s were edge to edge survival skiing ice. Will prob...

Re: Help going NTN
Thanks for the thoughts! Sadly my massive 14 2W hobbit feet will not play nice with anything but the Crispi. The biggest size almost/or maybe actually doesn’t fit in length and width and I may still need them blown out by a fitter after the first few runs. I’m a pretty big guy, 230ish and they thoug...

Re: Help going NTN
Thanks so much for the insights! Interesting about the tech toe being more precise. When I was trying on the boots at Fey brothers I clicked into the Meidjo and was impressed at my perception (at least on the carpet) of the lateral power transfer. I imagined it being more finicky than a toe cage and...

Help going NTN
Hi! Thanks in advance for any advice. Long time but very intermediate VT tele skier moving to NTN to enjoy(hopefully) skiing hard pack with my 13 year old daughter who is on alpine and now blows me away on icy hard pack which I only bother skiing to spend time with her. Cost is a factor but I have s...
