Re: Ski recommendation
The current Ingstad and the Combat Nato are VERY different skis. Yes- they share a similar sidecut profile- that is the only thing that they share in terms of overall geometry, flex pattern and stiffness. Even the shape and profile of the tip is different between these two skis. Where the confusion...

Re: Ski recommendation
Havent tried any of the other skis, sadly. With the understanding that Combat Nato is much better on consolidated snow I believe this will be the best option for me as that is very common in Rondane area. Sadly Im not able to find it in 200cm currently, so might opt for the Ingstad 195 or wait for n...

Re: Ski recommendation
"Very strange that Åsnes is being so short and not very helpful when you ask for assistance..." Is that a Norwegian thing? I honestly don't know much about the culture, so I'm not taking the brevity personally. I know that a Japanese response would be fulsome, and unnecessarily apologetic, but I sp...

Re: Ski recommendation
Thanks again, Roleant. I also believe this would be a great ski for me. Very strange that Åsnes is being so short and not very helpful when you ask for assistance... Clearly everyone thinks there is a significant enough difference to comment on. There is also a quite large weight difference and they...

Re: Ski recommendation
Update: I have now used the Ingstads for one weekend on both a long summit trip (35k, 1700 altitude meters) and a shorter trip behind the cabin for some nice turns. I have to say I'm really happy with it and dont have anything negative to say. I was skiing in very varied conditions (lots of ice, cru...

Re: Ski recommendation
You are saying that the distance warrants a "backcountry" ski (i.e. "fjellski"/"Nordic Touring ski") as opposed to an "Alpine Touring" ski (i.e. "Toppturski")- yes? But you are looking for a BC Nordic Touring ski that is decent/fun downhill- yes? Yes, this is a good conclutsion. A fjellski that can...

Re: Ski recommendation
Your Ingstad may be the choice... It seems many are leaning towards this recommendation (/Combat NATO). I have tried my fathers Ingstads and they feel great - just a bit boring to buy a ski that I could borrow almost whenever I want... I frequently run into this problem and have to make a choice......

Ski recommendation
Hi all, my first post here, been reading a lot on this forum the last days as Ive been looking into getting my own telemark gear. I do have quite a lot of experience with telemark, am an avid cross country skiier and also do ski touring. My family has a cabin which is in the Norwegian mountains (Ron...
