Re: Sbounds...leathers
Oh... :( so we're not the only ones then waiting for real winter to kick in... Even in the Alps there is not much snow yet and only quite high up. Here in the Bohemian Forest we've had a couple of dustings, for me not skiable yet. We'll see how it goes. Just over a week ago there was a very short sn...

Re: Messing around in the Bohemian Forest and Eastern Alps
G'day folks! Apologies for not posting more pix & trip reports. Will try to find time to put that right. Last ski hike of last "season" was in JuNe in the Alps: still nice enough above 2100m then but the melting was setting in very rapidly, nice but conditions to stay well away from anything steeper...

Re: PSA: milsurp Scarpa T4s
Interesting; shipping costs are only displayed after you've entered your e-mail address, delivery address etc. It would be nice if they would display the shipping costs up front like most other shops do ... No doubt shipping to Europe makes no sense. My old Scarpa T2 could do with a replacement

Re: 2024 Quiver
My Ski March is 7 years old and comfortably broken in, however still in very nice condition. It is my go to boot for touring for turns in my Falketind X. It’s the boot for steeper more challenging descents, probably what guys would want the Alpha Free for. When it’s more rolling XC, but I just want...

Re: 2024 Quiver
@Bohemian how would you compare the Alico green arctics with Alico Ski March? I have the latter from telemark Pyrenees and am tempted to grab Arctics. I like the higher cuff (and they also just look better to my eye.) I do like how my Ski Marches ski, I just don’t get out enough to break them in (f...

Re: 2024 Quiver
Used these skis this winter: -old Atomic ARC 195 with 3-pin rat traps, must be from around 1990, these are now my rock skis, got them from Oslo late 2022. -Aasnes Combat Nato 195 with Voile HD Mountaineer bindings (old NOS) directly on the ski, with short and long skins, both nylon. -Rossignol BC100...

Re: Lundhags Boots
About Lundhags Guide (Expedition) boots in 75mm : I know the manufacturer strongly recommends cable bindings and doesn't want 3-pin rat traps to be used. But does anyone here use these boots with 3-pin bindings? I have several ski sets mounted with 3-pin rat traps and don't fancy swapping for cable ...

Re: Sbounds...leathers
Wonderful! :D Looks similar our local piece of beech forest which got dubbed "little Japan", but I think you have more often much better powder. Despite being situated on the north side of a ridge our beech tree run often gets crusty or like mash potatoe... Right now after plenty fresh snow it's rai...

Re: Lundhags Boots
I wore a 46 and then 47 nnnbc Alaskan. Suffered needlessly for years. Then I found some Expedition nnnbcs through a very kind forum member on this site. They are 46, made a couple years ago. I can easily wear two sock and still have room. Still experimenting with lacing, and the boots are not broke...

Re: Andrew Rifugio to come! In many sizes
I have not asked Andrew directly whether I could custom order a Telemark boot- but, I have asked them (more than once, over the years) whether I could custom order a chainsaw boot from them- the answer? Yes- they responded with instructions on how to measure both of my feet- asked me which model I ...
