Re: Winter Travel Trailer???
It’s a solid move. There’s a guy at Midwest telefest who put a diesel heater and kitchen space in his trailer. It cuts down gas mileage significantly, but he stayed warm when it was -20F last year. And much cozier looking than the floor less hot tent that I slept in. One of the cooks at mount bohemi...

Re: Telemark 101, The Stance
I'm 5'4 and my swix mtn touring are 135 and I think that's good for straight xc skiing. Since my adjustable asnes poles broke I bought some silicone stretch tape from the hardware store (couldnt find any foam tape and needed a solution pronto, though in the future I may order some bike handlebar ta...

Re: Telemark 101, The Stance
For lift served short poles are what they are. BUT In the Bush, you need to use them to cruise and on the steep up you won't get there as easily with short poles. When earning your turns going up long is really good. On the down a tap here and there is good for balance but mostly they are for bashi...

Re: Telemark 101, The Stance
Here’s an oldie. Tight stance, but those long poles got a go. When I’m making turns I like my poles at 120cm or 110 is even better. I’m 5’10”3378F177-8891-4B04-AB7B-E21F6F8D9A4D.jpeg I’m 5’9” and like mine at 115. Some of the canonical tele books mention shortening poles and I’ve found that helps g...

Re: Yooper snow dance
I guess it’s time to start dancing in the southern part of the state! Would the Finn snow gods be offended if I partake in a little Norwegian aquavit? You know, imbibe in some Nordic spirits while imploring the Nordic spirits? Wassail Wuldor, winter’s ward, slinger of snow, skald of skis, forefathe...

Re: SE Minnesota unconventional Ski build..? HOk + Xplore
I'm in SE Minnesota.. Winters here are hit and miss, and snow conditions vary greatly.. When we get snow, and keep snow, I want to take advantage! Most of my usage will be exploring State and County Land, and hopefully learning a little bit of telemark on my own, when i find clear areas to play.. I...

Re: Helmet and Kneepads
I like Giro’s Montero MTB helmet for riding and skiing in. The visor is removable and can blend in with ski helmets at the hill. It offers good coverage on the back of the head while being light and well vented too. In my own experience the helmet cracked after crashing off a ladder drop, but the MI...

Re: Light & agile tele: SB with the new transnordic leather?
@TheMusher Does your Lundhags Expedition 75 have a 3pin duckbill? Some versions of this boot do not have the NN 3pin holes and can only be used with a cable binding... Sorry just saw your reply/question without reading the thread. The Lundhags Expedition 75 was intented to be used solely with cable...

Re: Light & agile tele: SB with the new transnordic leather?
Update on this ongoing project I have now ordered BOTH a Guide Expedition 75 and Fischer Transnordic 75. Will make a side-by-side comparison and decide which one is most fit for the purpose - sufficient walking comfort, solid downhill performance. Will share my takeaways here. The boots of choice w...
