Re: New ALFA boot
I've heard that both Alfa Free and Outback are receiving a complete change to a new model – the Free being plastic at least in part. Seems like it.

Re: light/minimal 3pin binding with free pivot mode??
I'm a little surprised aclyon that you found Rossi XP-12 boots heavy? Or do you mean the ski. The boot is one of the most lightweight XP boots and has impressive support, close to Alfa Free. Fits me well, but has an odd toe cup thing thay extends over the arch and pushes me foot there from above, wh...

Re: 2024 Alpina Pioneer TECH XP Backcountry/Telemark ski boot review XPLORE
Wow, that sole connection and upper stitching seems to be very shabby at best. It is one thing to lighten a boot and try to make some high tech features withing that light boot technology but another thing to have such durability issues. It kinda forces you to keep spending piles of money to try ne...

Re: Can you actually climb with kick wax?
You can climb steeper than other traction bases, but not as steep as with full skins. Performance is closest to kicker skins, although in ideal conditions wax beats them too.
Could be about your ski or waxing too, or what the snow is like.

Re: Rant: Rottefella NNN/Universal JIG piece of JUNK
I recently got myself the jig. It sure does have some slack... but works quite ok if you find the right direction to hold the plastic piece against, while drilling. But the greatest issue was, that aside from the blue Xplore mounting plates, the rest had issues in the heel plates. I had my NNN-BC he...

I have a couple pairs of destroyed X-skins. Saved them if I ever wanted to try refurbishing them, but never have the time. I can send these to you for shipping cost

Re: Fischer Traverse Boots for Xplore Binding
What is your weather like in Finland right now? At my friend's farm in Trondelag his snow level went from 120 to 50 in three weeks time. Winter had a slow start... took until late January for any significant snow. In the north ofc much more. I think it will be quite stable now, but I am aware of th...

Re: Review: Altai KOM 174cm
Snatched a pair for -70% in 174 cm length, having read these reviews. Only thing is the boot/binding combo I am wondering what to do with. Folks here typically use the Altai/OAC skinbased style "skis" for shuffling around on daytrips with the universal bindings, with little to no control. Recently s...

Re: Xplore Roller skiing bindings broken
I wonder what would make the plastic crack like that? The metal socket should be taking all the force? Cold, sideways pressure from the boot twisting sideways, ice buildup causing a wedge to pressure the plastic, …? Good that it doesn’t compromise the core functionality of the binding (should not s...

Re: Xplore Roller skiing bindings broken
Happy new year! To kick 2025 off it's time to get rid of some 2022 bindings. Just noticed a crack on the nylon cover near the pin step in. Does make it quite hard to kick the pins in, but does not affect skiing
This pair of bindings has only seen 200 km of skiing
