Re: Riding the hide
I bought a pair of Alicos from Altai to try on. The fit was so weird, I don't understand how any person could fit into them.

Re: Short, waxable ski recommendation
I use 30mm 100% mohair x-skins on my Rabb 68s. I wanted kicker skins that would have a similar grip to glide as fish scales, but I found that these both grip and glide better than fish scales. Re: Gaiters for skiing
The OR Crocodiles are pretty much the gold standard for gaiters. Tough without being overly heavy.
Some non-waterproof ones would be nice for breathability. I wonder if they would get wet wading through dry powder.

Nice, east of the smaller mesa looks like a nice way to get up to Snowden meadows. Going from Andrews lake up to Snowden meadows can be a bit steep in places.

Re: Chest Pack
I think I found something that will work. Mountain Hardwear makes a big fanny pack. If you tighten the webbing so that the buckle is off to the side, should work well with packs. The webbing is a bit thin on this. Might have someone sew thicker webbing on. https://i.imgur.com/I1ATsfQ.jpg https://i.i...
