Re: Mitigating Snow Buildup Underfoot
In the past, I've used spray silicone with good results. Also, Teflon tape can help. I think you're just a little south of me. I ski mostly in the Bear River Range. I've noticed a lot more caking underfoot this year with the warmer temperatures. Wondering if you seen the same though, if you ski at ...

Mitigating Snow Buildup Underfoot
I've been doing a lot of touring in Northern Utah this winter. The snow has finally started falling but it's closer to West Coast cement than Champaign powder. As a result I'm getting some severe snow buildup under my boot with the Transit binding. I'm thinking of using this spray stuff I sprayed in...

I remember decades ago when the sport of rollerblading burst on the scene. I didn't live in a place that was conducive to the sport or I'd have loved giving it a go. Closest I got was some rental blades and some bumpy outings. At any rate, one of the things I read at the time went something like, "....

Re: Why the telemark?
I ‘started’ because my engineering knowledge of structures told me it was safer. I stayed because I could never go back.

I make these so I can mount multiple bindings. 3/8” Polyethylene sheets from Amazon are perfect.Spiny Norman wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 11:15 amThe old polyethylene cutting board as a bridge/riser plate trick?

Re: What to do with an old pair of Voile Objectives
I enjoy skiing them with Xplore bindings. I’ve done 3-pin, too with better control but I bias towards touring.

Re: XCD skis on hardpack at the resort
Took my S-Bound 98s with NNN-BC and Alpina Alaska boots to the resort yesterday. Granted I only did green runs but I am so impressed with the turnability of these skis. I imagine it would be even better with 3-pin with cables or Xplore. Blue runs might be pushing it with NNN-BC but I was able to do...

Re: Voile Objective BC: grip or glide?
Temps have been pretty warm so I used Toko Yellow that's good for above freezing. Temperature this day was between 30 and 33 degrees. I applied the wax tip and tail with an iron. I then went over the scales with a liquid Swix F4 all purpose. I was satisfied with performance both climbing and coming ...
