Re: RFK speech, not what I expected. It’s worth 40 minutes
The trick is to not to worry how others think. The purpose of bringing up the topic is to instigate thinking. Unfortunately, with all the group think going on in the world, if you don't step in line with the status quo and support the latest "thing", or put the right flag in your bio, they will choo...

Re: The Alberta XCD thread
Unfortunately weekdays are out for me as I'm one of the average schleps with a manual labor Monday to Friday life sentence. Hence why Im passing over the Norquay pass a bit. What I'm trying to do is have an option to get hot laps in on the way out to or returning from backcountry zones I hit regular...

Re: The Alberta XCD thread
Anybody ski Nakiska regularly? https://skinakiska.com/purchase/season-passes/nakiska-season-pass/ They have an early bird pass for just over 600 bucks and it's an hour from Calgary. Seems like a no brainer for getting max value of skiing time. The purpose of this pass for me at this point is just to...

Re: Good gear does not the skier make
@Lhartley what's the topsheet on those army splitboards? Rainbow flags? LOL. That flag is certainly part of their kit. But not on the board, in the case I know of anyways. https://www.veterans.gc.ca/en/remembrance/people-and-stories/pride-in-service Not that I care what anyone's bedroom business is

Re: Good gear does not the skier make
Nothing more to the story. I personally know the guy using them. He's a good dude and part of elite operations in Canada. The splitboard as far as I know is so far only used in training exercises, like the video shown here. But far more difficult terrain. My only point being is that it's hard to tak...

Re: Good gear does not the skier make
Not sure you're picking up what I'm putting down. Splitboards are snowboards. They don't go uphill until you turn your splitboard into skis. It means there's a "transition" time beyond pulling skins. You have to mechanically change your mode of transportation by removing then and putting them on aga...

Re: Good gear does not the skier make
If you think that's bad, Canada's military made allowances for splitboards. Feeeel the inclusion
But that's OK. Canada's security plan is America
