Re: 2024 Alpina Pioneer TECH XP Backcountry/Telemark ski boot review XPLORE

@Theme I'd say yes, they have really more support than the alaska XP. And more than the Alfa Skaget as well... Especially lateral support is much stronger, fore aft a little bit. I think this is a good all around boot for people who want controll on the downhills but something that XCs better than a...

Re: Åsnes Rabb….nylon skin or klister?

If i may ad my mustard to the mix: I've a Rabb and this winter i skied a lot with wax this winter. What i'd probably try is apply a warm kick wax from the x-skin attachement to the boot heel or a little bit longer to start with, about 2-3 layers to see how it works on the day of skiing and bring the...

Re: XPlore boots comparison

Yes, just last week i looked at the Skaget and said to a friend that this is the boot that compares the most to the original Alaska, main difference ist probably slightly wider in front and the heel ankle grip cushions that are fantastic. I also had the chance to try on the Pioneer Pro and Pioneer T...

In Québec there is a shop who has them... I tried them on today!

I'd say sizewise they run like Alaska XPs, on the smaller and slimmer side...

Re: Black Diamond Tele gear

I had a black diamond push boot for 2 winters, used it with a AXL binding. Was a fantastic boot to Ski. I would say super for wider feet, soft bellows and hard upper. If i remember correctly it event had a 130 flex written on it. I changed after for a T2 Eco, which i liked less, bellows way harder, ...

Re: Rottefella Xplore Pin Grease

I used finish line wet chain lubrification. it was all i had laying around and worked fine last winter... Compared to a real grease it is more viscous/liquid, but still quite thick for a "oil" type of thing so i'd suggest it'd stay on longer than wd40 or any other oil, without attracting dirt or clo...
