Xplore Binding Failure - Any Fix or Utter Doom?
2nd time out skiing with my new fancy alfa apx xplore boots, when joy turns to sorrow... Xplore Binding Failure: Is there any way to fix this in the field? Or are you just Shackleton'd, devistated to a long haul of utter misery and desperation? Using your unbound ski as a sword to fend of polar bears?

Re: Steel edge or not to steel edge? And other pulk sled snow stuff
I also own the Lundhags Abisko Xplore Expedition (taller verzion) size 41 - for sale if anybody wants! The Lundhags are the first boot to rub my shin bone. My actual bone. Rub rub rub. I can't even look at those boots anymore without pain. I slowly broke them in mile by mile, then eventually did an ...

Re: Ship Skis to Alaska from Norway
I ordered skis from neptune, had them mount 3 pin bindings for me. A year later I replaced the initial 3 pin binding with the new xplore binding. I found drill holes in skis from another binding. They thought I'd never notice? I refuse to purchase skis from them again, untrustworthy shop. Do not rec...

Re: Ship Skis to Alaska from Norway
Uhhhuh, those exact skis.
I'll just have to use it as an excuse to go to Norway. I finally gave up home when they were getting sold out.

Re: Steel edge or not to steel edge? And other pulk sled snow stuff
Hi Randoskier and S...ss!! I just saw your post, haven't logged in in a while. Initally, I posted the metal edge question and regreatted that I mentioned skiing with a dog. I was simply curious about what was the pros/cons of using a metal edged ski, particuarlly when pulling a pulk . Then I receive...

Re: Steel edge or not to steel edge? And other pulk sled snow stuff
Something you might want to consider is inflatable snowshoes- . This sounds brilliant! I'll have to get a pair. I can also possibly skin up, depends on snow conditions. My bigger fear is getting DOWN with the pulk on skis on the narrow narrow trail, and snowshoes would be a good choice then. My pul...

Re: What's in your Pulk?
How do you cook and melt snow in such a small vestibule? Don't you get a lot of condensate with both you and your dog in such a small tent? What kind of pulk do you use? I've come to call my Akto a bivy compermise. In the evening, we get to enjoy warmth and protection while cooking snow and eating,...

Re: Steel edge or not to steel edge?
Most just disobey the leash law when descending, but some people ski downhill with their dogs on leash. As a working husky, she is always on leash. I don't haul her meat and food 300 miles just for her company. I've posted this non-metal edge topic to learn what I'm missing out using metalless edge...
