Re: Alpina Alaska XP failure?!

Looks more like a glue failure than an XP failure tbh. They worked for two seasons, so it’s worth posing rhetorical questions whether the boots were often put away wet, inner soles soaked, not allowed to dry, dried near a heat source, stored next to a furnace or wood stove etc. Fixed similar failure...

Re: Xplore on Ice?

Idk about that… but the skiing might suck ass (as it is this season).

Re: Calgary Norseman

Thanks.

Save those silica gel packs that come with many consumer items… pop them in a ski bag at the end of the season.

Re: Xplore on Ice?

Last year was pretty wet at times. Started like the January patch this year. Though the main participants are all now banned, seeing this thread resurrected I have to contest this statement. Unless he is referring to wet in November and/or April. Most of Dec, the entirety of Jan and Feb, and the ve...

Re: Fischer S-Bound vs Madshus Panorama

Hence the Panorama and the S-Bound. According to my research, they are skis that have the characteristics I am looking for. I understand that everyone has their favorites. Re: Telemark Technique

And it’s a very good point you make Lhartley . This is the whole point of the tour. Build fitness on the flats, increase strength on the climb, master control on the descent… thereby becoming a fit, strong, and controlled skier. Psychologically, working for your turns makes them count for more. You’...

Re: Telemark Technique

Price out an NTN rig, which is what these gear whores insist is needed to traverse a toboggan hill. Add up the cost of 8 skis and 15 boots in a serial shopper’s basket. Check out the price of a few pairs of cf all mountain powder skis for the groomers. What does it add up to? Well, it’s four figures...
