You’re in the PNW (Mt Baker, right?). Go to an authorized repair shop for Zodiac inflatable boats. If anyone can find the right material and install a patch that will hold up to moisture, flexing, and abrasion, it’s those guys.

Re: Mount an NNN-BC binding on a AT ski?
Here’s an article that touches on the ski design features discussed so far. It’s interesting because it’s from a custom ski maker. Companies like these don’t sell skis… they sell set-up better tailored to all the things we’ve talked about. https://www.wagnerskis.com/blogs/journal/mountain-vs-backcou...

Re: Mount an NNN-BC binding on a AT ski?
Leash plates.., haven’t seen those things in a while. Had a set on a used pair of Fischer E99s (pre Crown, waxable) about 10 years ago. The story att was they were popular on early NNN BC skis here in the states.. mandatory for getting onto groomed hills at resorts that allowed this kind of thing. S...

Re: Mount an NNN-BC binding on a AT ski?
Interesting about the Bre. Figured anything would be stiffer than the Alaska! Agree on the ref to REI. Had originally quoted them… they sell lots of skis and are as much an authority on “vanilla ice cream” than anything else. This got me thinking about things a bit… like the difference between a wid...

Re: Mount an NNN-BC binding on a AT ski?
BC bindings and boots aren’t designed for groomers. Nor are they designed for alpine conditions, alpine touring, higher angle slopes etc. The clue is in the name… “backcountry” which is explicit. This is why “NNN BC” and “Xplore BC” carry the names they do. 75mm under foot isn’t especially wide. A R...

Re: Crispi past, present and future?
No financial incentive for Crispi to do this. More money to be made selling two pairs of boots to the same customer. Sad bit true. Agree on distribution issues. The way retail is going in America these days with shrinkage, it will all be online ordering soon. Probably more money to be made… manufact...

Re: Mount an NNN-BC binding on a AT ski?
Not sure what’s meant by the term “boot binding”. Boot? Binding? Both? Here’s the thing…. All biases aside, there’s nothing the matter with NNN BC bindings. The toe clamp locates the boot on the binding. The rails locate the boot sole and allow a significant amount of force to be applied from the so...

LOL. Good one.
If anything happens to the top sheet, there are people who specialize in restoring great works of art.

Re: New Åsnes Combat NATO 62 BC
Ha ha. We think alike. As you were typing this, my search was focused on the skin specs. Interestingly, the NATO 62 and NATO BC have skins of different dimensions and weight. NATO 62 (the new one) IMG_0636.jpeg NATO BC (the original) IMG_0637.jpeg Was thinking that the weight difference might be a t...
