Re: Fischer S-Bound vs Madshus Panorama

Wabene, I agree it would be great to have a waxable ski for when conditions are right, but does it have to be a s98? Why not wax up one of your alpine skis if you have one. Even my widest alpine ski will tour better than my best scaled ski when waxed in good dry conditions, especially if they have ...

Re: Telehiro and B-Tele Discussion

IMO, it might have been difficult to get started with b-tele on E99’s or Gammes. I learned b-tele first on 196 cm FTX’s and 173 cm Åsnes V12’s. The FTX’s and V12’s have similar dimensions and cambers. But when you have got a grasp pf b-tele dialed in, the technique seems easy on Gamme and E99 class...

Re: Wannabe telemark skier here

I never had a problem with rocker launch with my T2s either. They had some but it didn't prevent me from getting my heel down. I wouldn't count those boots out until you try them. Rocker launch may be worse for a "knee to ski" skier. I have seen other peoples boots that had worse rocker launch then ...

Thanks for posting your TR, you got some good action shots there. Judging by all of the snow still on the trees it looks like your storm finished nice and calm.

Re: Fake Fjalraven cotton anorak

I thought this was going to be one of those “ too good to be true” adds that are surely a rip off. But it looks like a good product at a good price to me.

I really enjoyed that movie. I found it interesting that when he compared modern xc gear to his home made wide skis he found the xc gear to be much more tireing.

Re: Need travel advice

A quick google search revealed that there are a few ski resorts in Mexico. I would check to see if you will be near one of them. Mexico is a big country.

Re: Need travel advice

I don’t know anything about skiing in Mexico but I would definitely bring my rock skis. You may also need some thick skin so all of the strange looks you’ll be getting at the airport carrying your skis won’t make you feel self conscious. Let us know how it goes.
