Snow sticking to my wax is why I crayon colder wax over my warmer wax. It works
Do you cork this colder wax layed over warmer one, or do you crayon it only?

Re: unprepared terrain and tracks

What about the Fisher TN66? From what I've read, it seems a lot of people use it. It's rather soft-tipped, and at that width it should fit in tracks. But what about performance in unprepared terrain?

Re: unprepared terrain and tracks

I know yr.no.
23/24 was bad in Europe, but this winter seems even worse.

Are you going to the Tatra mountains?
This winter even Tatra are miserable. There is some snow in Sudety on Czech side. I have to think about traveling to more distant areas, like Alps.

Re: unprepared terrain and tracks

Why do you need a ski that both works in tracks and can handle downhill turns? Family holiday in ski resorts, where there are large networks of tracks, but completely unknown in terms of XCD possibilities... I can't afford to take a few pairs of skis. I intend to use the tracks but I would like to ...

Re: unprepared terrain and tracks

Rossignol BC65 . I think they have some other name now but it's the same ski. The thing is, the longest BC65s are 195 cm, and recommendation for them is "80+ kgs". I'm afraid, they are to short for my weight. Anyway, my wife was very happy with old BC65. The new ones, she says, are not the same. Sp...

unprepared terrain and tracks

I'm thinking of a ski that will still fit in the tracks but will also allow me to move in unprepared terrain. By "fiting in the tracks" I mean that it won't rub too much, but I don't care much about speed. When it comes to ungroomed terrain I would like it to have some turning ability on moderate sl...

And, which wax do you consider soft and hard? Red is certainly soft, but eg. Violet Special?

Re: Fischer Traverse 78 Ski Length Recommendations

Fischer changed the design of Traverse 78 recently. The new 23/24 version has no slot for short skins and comes in 169/179/189/199 cm lengths. Older version, with a slot for short skins, was 176/186/196 cm. So, I think your skis are in fact the newest. Maybe this ski is more biased towards XC?

Re: Fischer Traverse 78 Ski Length Recommendations

That size chart doesn't seem to be up-to-date. Thera are skis on it that are no longer being produced, such as S-Bound 112. Am I right?
Could you do a paper sheet test, to check if you can squeeze the chamber?
