And, which wax do you consider soft and hard? Red is certainly soft, but eg. Violet Special?

Re: Fischer Traverse 78 Ski Length Recommendations
Fischer changed the design of Traverse 78 recently. The new 23/24 version has no slot for short skins and comes in 169/179/189/199 cm lengths. Older version, with a slot for short skins, was 176/186/196 cm. So, I think your skis are in fact the newest. Maybe this ski is more biased towards XC?

Re: Fischer Traverse 78 Ski Length Recommendations
That size chart doesn't seem to be up-to-date. Thera are skis on it that are no longer being produced, such as S-Bound 112. Am I right?
Could you do a paper sheet test, to check if you can squeeze the chamber?

Some quite useful remarks (not mine) on Svartisen 75 customization http://telemark.pl/sprzet/buty-narciarskie-backcountry/. In Polish, but I think Google translator will work.

Re: Ski Review: 2018-2019 Fischer Traverse 78
Fischer changed the design of Traverse 78 again. They are longer, lighter, and instead of a mount for short skins they have slit in the tip for Fischer's full-lenght Super Skins. But I don't know anything about their performance - could anyone say something about it? Still XC- oriented?

I find grip waxing better when the WAX is cold. It is less sticky, there is no globs. So, I put wax in a freezer before waxing.Capercaillie wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 3:57 pmThere are a lot of old myths about grip waxing on the Internet: that it is better to grip wax when the skis are cold

Re: Wax pocket Q
I am using Swix Universal K65C, but I find it not easy to spread it in a thin layer, as solvent evaporates quite quickly and klister becames jelly. Nevertheless, it has a convenient temperature range for my spring conditions, -5 to +10.

Re: Wax pocket Q
@tkarhu you've mentioned Rex universal klister. I could not find such thing as liquid, only as traditional gel?

Re: Wax pocket Q
@fisheater I've tried this coating trick a few times, covering Swix Universal klister with Blue or Violet, but with no success. Maybe some details are important? How thick should be klister, how long should it cool, how to cover with hard wax?
