Re: Quiver Killers with Xplore

I used Binding Freedom inserts with my Xplore bindings. I had to grind the screw heads to get them to sit flush with the surface of the binding. Without modification I found I could not insert the flexors. I ground the heads using a drill press. It takes time, but it isn't difficult and the results ...

Re: ISO Xplore boot that is 'best' at downhill and available in USA (and possibly won't break the bank)

I agree that the Hoks are not a replacement for skis. They are an alternative to skis in specific conditions. I bought them to crisscross through Gatineau Park, where the trees are very dense and the hills are not all that big. For this purpose they were perfect. I have found they are also very usef...

Re: DIY integrated skins?

@Vailkilledtupac, it sounds like you want to DIY a Hok base. They have their skins integrated into the base. Don't know the manufacturing process, but I imagine you could achieve something similar by grinding down the base to the thickness of the skin and then gluing it in. I've had my Hoks for abou...

Re: Quiver Setup Help 75mm v Xplore

lilcliffy , I am pleased to hear you have been satisfied with the Xplore bindings on your Rabb 68. I recently mounted Xplores on my Hok 145s (with the new Alpina Pioneer Pro), and I was very disappointed by the lack of control. It felt like I was mounted to the skis with snorkeling flippers. Some q...

Re: Top sheet designs

I am a big fan of these nordic Benchetler skis. XC top sheets are so conservative compared to alpine, at least in my experience.

Re: Anybody recognize these bindings?

I picked them up as part of a package. I was mostly interested in the boots (early T2s in great condition) and considered keeping the bindings for an XCD set up. Given the comments from those of you who know the superloop, I will leave them as they are and ride them on the resort when I want that ol...

Anybody recognize these bindings?

I haven't encountered these bindings before. Anybody know them? Are they any good? They don't look like they are made for steep and deep, but perhaps they are decent for XCD?

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC Sizing (second try)

I know they sell them at La Cordee in Montreal: https://www.lacordee.com/en/asnes-combat-nato-backcountry-cross-country-skis-ans-540224?page=1 mca80 mentioned that they carry them at Norseman in Calgary, but I think you have to call to find out pricing and what is in stock: https://www.norsemanoutdo...

Re: Bent 100 or 110

I ride the Bent 100s. I find the flotation to be good in powder, though I haven't yet tried them in truly deep pow. Those HRZN Tech tips are not just a gimmick IMO. No problem driving the 100s with Meidjos, though on groomers 100 feels like the limit, at least for me. 110 sounds fat to me for resort...
