You can buy the correct Black Diamond USGI 60mm full length adhesive skins, complete with tail hooks and tip stretchers, and brand new, on ebay for about $21.00 shipped. These are long enough for 210+cm skis , so can be trimmed to fit. I've purchased several pair of these skins in the last few year...

Did you say you iron in your wax? Then a harder wax would have no extra costs I guess. And waxes cost very little, especially compared to good skis.

Yeah just dislocated a finger, it was very dumb, not even the fall caused that, but trying to stand.
