Did you say you iron in your wax? Then a harder wax would have no extra costs I guess. And waxes cost very little, especially compared to good skis. :)
Maybe I get some more from puuilo.

And I think I busted a finger, now I need rest.
Ouch- are you ok?
Yeah just dislocated a finger, it was very dumb, not even the fall caused that, but trying to stand.

Do you know how to cosmetically fix the nylon, I stabbed the skis with my pole :(

Re: How do you even go uphill?...

I found for more durable kick wax, especially on skis with less camber, the best practice after the base prep is to iron in a base binder in the kick zone, then cork in a layer of a hard kick wax like polar. From there I will go with a layer of green, then finally three to four layers of the kick w...

Grip wax doesn't last forever. I rewax every outing or every 10 km or so. Takes just 3 min.
10km...

So all the wax was gone by the second day, that's December.

I've been skiing mostly without wax?...

Re: How do you even go uphill?...

lots of good advice posted for climbing. Quick summary of what sounded good to me: - Make sure you are putting 100% weight on each foot as you move forward (don’t shuffle your feet, with weight on both feet); - press your climbing foot firmly into the snow and hold all your weight on it; - make sur...

Re: How do you even go uphill?...

Åsnes Combat nato 210 85kg A 210 Combat NATO is ideal for your weight and the intended touring that you have described on this site. around -28C to -30C air (that day) Swiss something blue, If the abient temperature is that low- I am surprised that you can move at all. That is way too cold a temper...

Re: How do you even go uphill?...

You may be a bit light for that ski at that length. There's a trend around here to recommend the longest ski possible in the asnes lines, not always great advice for folks learning. Perhaps you are not compressing the grip pocket. Just a thought. While I do not entirely disagree with what you are s...

Re: How do you even go uphill?...

@sheep I think 15 degrees is just quite steep for herringboning. Especially, when snow is soft. At some point you just need to move to side stepping. I would side step 20 degrees, but herringbone 15’ personally maybe. Like @CwmRaider suggests, traversing is also a good idea, and you can combine it ...

Re: How do you even go uphill?...

As I learned here, remove all the glide wax. Go back with Swix White Polar on the glide zone. Iron it in if you want. Crayon it on thick and hit it with 140 degrees on the iron. (Sounds weird but it's fine.) Grip wax as normal. In certain conditions it'll really help your grip wax stick! But, if th...

Re: How do you even go uphill?...

What skis are you using; What length; What is your all-up weight when skiing; What is the snow temperature (better measurement), or air temperature; What wax are you using? Åsnes Combat nato 210 85kg around -28C to -30C air (that day) Swiss something blue, I know, but this -30C stuff is kinda odd i...
