Re: The new Rottefella XPLORE OFFTRACK Binding System Review

Not measured in miles but smiles. I'm skeptical. Balancing on 2 pins foot way in the air, all pressure on one small area. I dunno. How is this going to be a big improvement? I know it's all about emotions and smiles. But the least they could do is to get good skiers in the vids... Or intermediate s...

Re: Asnes Rabb 68 Ski Review

Brian, If most of your time will be spent at the resort, I would definitely invest in NTN boots and bindings. (And get a cheap thrift-store XC setup for occasional meadow skipping...?) On the other hand, unless your resort days are 100% fresh powder, I would stay away from the Rabb. It's an AMAZING ...

Every winter I take an after ski beer pic. Last winter it’s Breckinridge Nitro Vanilla Porter and and 98’s.
We, The New Nordic Nerds are doing this sometimes too... 8-)

Re: Asnes Rabb 68 Ski Review

Anyone mount a pair of Meidjo 3.0's on a pair of RAAB's? Overkill or ? Overkill?!? Not at all, quite the opposite! Not what I use them for, but the Meidjo + Rabb would be a perfect combo... This is what they were designed for: RABB 68 " Weapon of choice of long touring adventures with a 75mm or Tec...

Re: The Beer Thread

I have never had any objection to the social scene of apres-ski (ahem, Mont Tremblant on the weekend all the N. European college kids arrive) , but it was never a pre-requisite. Yeah well, not exactly my definition of apres-ski... Like what you see in the movies. Yuck. My definition of apres-ski is...

Re: The Beer Thread

For me, ski and booze have always been indissociable. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. For over 30 years, there never was a single ski day without apres-ski here. Apres-ski was a scientific, mathematical, integral part of skiing: SKIING = SKI + ( Booze + Warm crackling fireplace + Musi...

The Beer Thread

Hold on a second... How's that possible? This forum is going to be 24 years old this winter, and there is still no official beer thread yet?!? In a place full of skiers, outdoor enthusiasts and New Englanders? Pretty hard to believe!!! Here is a local one, from the Eastern Townships Brewery: The Swe...

Re: Asnes Ingstad/Nansen/Nato flex comparison

Now one thing, Gareth is you asked for "feel" which is terribly subjective and prone to big ass arguments Very nice test Skimeister Woods!!! You right about subjectivity... For me when someone mentions "Feel", I tend to think about boys festivals, beer-drinking, monomarks, broken skis and double pl...
