Re: Long trips, deep snow, but very low angle
Since I started this thread, i figured i come back around. I ended up swapping the nnnbc off the sbound 98s and ive been running 3 pin with removable cables. For boots Im running the Alaskans. Ive been pretty happy with this setup for ‘downhill’ oriented days. They dont glide particularly well, and...

Re: Altai Tao
@Krummholz
Please forgive me if I missed this in this thread-
what boot are you using with the Tao?
Also- you have NNNBC on the Hok? What BC boot?
......
For reference, I have the 145 Hok- no interest in the 125.

Re: Fischer Excursion 88 or S-Bound 98?
Dave Patterson Hello and Welcome! For reference, I have both the Fischer 88 (in a longish XC length); and a Fischer 98 (in shortish downhill length). My first thought- if you are content with the 98 on packed out trails (eg groomed bike trails; snowmobile trails; etc)- then I wouldn't stray from th...

Re: Altai Tao
Cool ski- great to have so many options!! Looks like I would have more fun on the Tao- vs the Hok- as a downhill ski- but, the Toa would not replace the Hok as a work/field/bush ski for me, as it is not avaialble in shorter more manoverable lengh for dense forest... So- to me- the Toa seems more aki...

Christian96moeller Is this the ski that you have bought? https://www.sportalbert.de/%c3%a5snes-backcountry-fjellski-combat-nato-62-waxless_AS542035_p.dpage?cag=SSA%7cA0301017 If so, it is the waxless version of this ski- the new Combat NATO "62"- https://www.asnes.com/produkt/combat-nato-62-bc/ The...

Re: Ski Review: 2018-2019 Åsnes Ingstad BC
I think that the Ingstad is due for a refresh... Having now toured on the redesigned Falketind 62 Xplore (FTX) in a 196 for a couple of seasons- the FTX refresh brought reduced shovel and tail rocker, and a more stable flex- What would I change about old Helge? 1) Reduce the shovel rocker. There is ...

Re: 2022 Falketind 62 Xplore 196 cm First Impressions
Just wanted to give a shout-out to this ski- I just had a good 10 straight days of incredible touring on this ski- trail skiing in hilly terrain on ~20-30cm of cold fresh snow over a refrozen consolidated base. I have this ski in a 196 length- mounted to XP- with Alfa Skaget XP boots. While certainl...

Re: Review: Altai KOM 174cm
Inspiredcapers Very cool! Thank you for the report on this excellent ski! I do use leather boots on this ski- but only for shuffling around on ideal snow and gentle terrain with my son- Although I certainly can ride this ski downhill in leather touring boots in ideal conditions- I certainly cannnot...

Re: Excursion 88 vs. Ingstad vs. transnordic 82
I tried to get some clarification from Asnes last summer but customer service didn't know how to answer my question. Are we saying that the Asnes Nansen now comes in a pattern base? The rep didn't seem to understand my question as to whether or not BC and/or waxless means pattern base and the descr...

Christian96moeller Very cool! Waxless Asnes Combat ski- didn't know that they made one! 205cm? Must be the new Combat ski- based on the current Ingstad (as opposed to the previous-gen Ingstad)? Does it have significant rocker in the shovel? https://www.asnes.com/produkt/combat-nato-62-bc/ https://w...
