Re: Scarpa T4 shoelaces

Huh... Never had any trouble with the laces in the T4... Forgive if you have already tried this- 1) surgeon knot at the top- followed by double reef knot (this has been enough for me). 2) If that is still not snug enough- try adding surgeon knot(s) at various locations through the laces- ending with...

Re: Asnes finally offering FTX, Rabb and Nosi with scales

Narrower than the Fischer 98- with scales- w Nordic touring boot? Fischer 78 Asnes Nansen WL I have both↑ and the S-Bound 98- On truly steep terrain and hardpack and/or icy snow- the Nansen offers the best edge hold- stiff, round flex, torsionally stable. The Fischer 78 is more cambered and therefor...

Re: Åsnes NOSI 76 Ski Review

stenu Again- beautiful photos!!! We still have lots of base here in the hills and late winter-early spring has been cool and very wet (lots of snow, rain and ice)- below freezing at night, above in the afternoon. Been on the Fischer 98 and 88 mostly. Nosi 76X mounted at balance point- haven't even ...

Re: Asnes finally offering FTX, Rabb and Nosi with scales

Perhaps I should say here that I have zero intersst in ever again owning any leather ski boots as they invariably get wet here when touring, then freeze solid overnight; I've had frostnip more than enough already. If "leather" is being used as a proxy term for not-plastic boots that's rather differ...

Re: Åsnes NOSI 76 Ski Review

BTW- I now have the current Nosi 76 "Xplore" ski- it matches CwmRaider 's description and photos- not the descriptions of the outgoing Nosi 76 in this review thread. The Nosi 76X has the same camber-rocker geometry as the curent FTX and Rabb 68, though it has a more tapered shovel. I won't post more...

Re: Asnes finally offering FTX, Rabb and Nosi with scales

Does FTX = Falketind Xplore? (I've not seen this before.) I'm semi-interested in something to pair with Xplore bindings and boots, but would need to deal with firm to icy conditions frequently - no powder - so going too wide is a nono. My guess is that the Falketind should be narrow enough to edge,...

Re: Adding more skis to my quiver

Good Morning Mattafix! Just woke up to a fresh spring snowfall! From your description- It doesn't sound like you need a lot of width underfoot- Question- why are you not considering Fischer? The S-Bound 98 is a great ski- it has an excellent, grippy scale insert- with just enough camber for the scal...

Thank you for the update!
Beautiful photos!
While I am very fortnuate to have the snow and terrain to tour locally-

It would be nice to have completely open terrain to tour on sometimes!

Re: Åsnes NOSI 76 Ski Review

@lilcliffy the shop mounted them so embarrassingly I cannot be sure. Usually here it is pin line on balance point. Thank you! The response from Asnes was firmly- balance point. I am certainly very happy with the Rabb and the Falketind at balance point. I am almost positive that my Rabb 68 had a boo...

Re: Light gear does a good telemarker make?

I mean, I already posted that in this thread five posts ago to respond to Lil cliffys claim that "world class" skiers don't ski light gear. But yeah I like that vid It seems that I cannot explain myself clearly in this medium. I have never said that world class skiers don't ski light gear. There is...
