I just went on a Wim Hof trip to the supermarket and now I'm writing this hiding from the police behind the recycling bins.

It may have been a mistake to go Full Hof.
Damn! Where is KITT when you need him!

What a hassle, Hof.
Now this one was clever!
You need to sell that one to "As It Happens" on CBC Radio!
You are all making me laugh so hard I upset my mid-morning cafe!

Re: Wildly speculative talk about Asnes 21-22 lineup: Otto/FT62

Was out on the new FT Xplore 196 in about a foot of fresh. It is far more supportive than the previous editions. I would hazard to report completely supportive as the tips completely disappeared under the snow, yet the ski was completely supportive. Very cool Bob! Thank you for the report! I would ...

Re: what ski do i want? i like cruising

@Roelant
Thank you for the retreival and clarfication on the Finnmark vs Gamme design.

Regardless- Crister told me (when they sent me the redesigned model) that the inspiration for the redesign of the Gamme 54 came from their love of the Finnmark.

Re: what ski do i want? i like cruising

I too- personally- would have very limited use for an edgeless BC touring ski (Gamme or not)- need the edge hold on steep consolidated/icy/refrozen snow- both up and down I also do not tour locally (meaning all of my touring over the last 10 years) above treeline- therefore, I need/want the steel ed...

Re: what ski do i want? i like cruising

My understanding- pls correct me if I am wrong here- The Finnmark is a first-gen Gamme 54 BC without the steel edge- The loss of the steel edge lightended the ski and changed the flex somewhat- the folks at Asnes were so pleased with the performance of the Finnmark that they redesigned the Gamme 54 ...

Re: Ski lenght importance... Traverse 78 vs Rossignol BC 80

Now- I don't know whether the current T78 is different from the recent model I have- compared to our T78: - T78 is more cambered - T78 is stiffer - T78 has a more raised tip - T78 has Fischer's Offtrack Crown insert, with sintered tip and tail - T78 has a kicker skin insert - T78 comes in longer len...

Re: Will NNNBC handle this?

Witnessed my first Rossi BC80 on a tur with us last weekend- I examined them- they are light- The skier (lightweight) seems very happy with them- The ski seems slow but the scales seemed to work better than I thought they would (we had many steep climbs)- not as good as grip wax (cold fresh snow)- b...
