I will add that I did own the 195 and the 205 at one time- and I gave up the 195-
And I exclusively use this ski in steep tight (dense forest) terrain and deep snow.

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC Sizing (second try)
Hello Kneedle Drop (like your username BTW!) and WELCOME! You and I are of very close height and weight. I am very close to your height and weight and I have the 195s. I think the choice comes down to flat vs downhill efficiency. Because I intended to ski some steeper stuff with them, I went a bit s...

Re: Need recommendations to help complete a setup for my girlfriend
Jlars13 Hi! Well- to state the obnoxious obvious- the Alaska BC and the T4 are VERY different boots... - the T4 will certainly give one more support and leverage than the Alaska BC- but it won't turn the M68 into a rigid downhill carving ski... I personally dont like the T4 on either the M68 or the...

Re: Prototype…
Hmmm...
Well this certainly very cool @JohnSKepler !
I am keen to hear how this works out for you- and in particular- what your perspective is on this XP-cable prototype vs the Rotte ST-cable system.
@JohnSKepler Question- what boot are you going to use with the Rotter ST-cable binding?

Re: Asnes Quiver addition advice sought
Hyalite Curious as to where you are at with this- have you narrowed down your search for a waxabke BC Nordic touring ski? The 179cm 88 may be a little short for you- but you don't weigh much- so it depends on context (ie terrain; snow; etc). I personally prefer the narrower 78- as it is much lighte...

Re: Custom riser for NNN BC bindings
Hello and welcome zargnath! Cool question and idea! I have never really considered a riser for NNNBC... I have used this adapter plate from Altai Skis in order to mount NNNBC on the Hok ski- using the inserts: https://us-store.altaiskis.com/product/adapter-plate/ I would certainly work as a riser pl...

Curious-
how is this "better" than a traditional 3pin-cable binding system?

Re: Mounting 3-Pin over Xplore
... It's a good question with something of a multilayered answer. ... I guess I appear very enthusiastic. I'm curious. I'm still excited. Still eagerly anticipating the first good snow fall. I'm still a kid. My wife tells me not everyone is like that but I'm not going to apologize for it. ... Thank...

Re: Mounting 3-Pin over Xplore
I mounted pin line at balance point. The both tour and turn well. PS I contacted Asnes, balance point was their recommendation Thanks Bob- that is what I thought on both counts. JohnSKepler If your intent with the FTX + 75mm is to use them as a Nordic touring ski- for hilly/steep terrain- then I pe...
