Re: Wildly speculative talk about Asnes 21-22 lineup: Otto/FT62

I love what you're doing using the short length and using it as an approach/AT ski in steep terrain and just killing it. It makes me want to try something like that for sure. This was the fear with the "flexible tips" and deep snow Of course you could get a stiffer ski by sizing up as well, at the l...

Re: Green Gamme vs Teal Gamme weight difference

Received some intel: Teal Man 200cm (pair): 1979g Green Man 200cm (pair): 2105g without bindings Avg 63g diff per ski So this wasn't entirely off-base: Paint them green, but be sure to add a pumpkin sticker! Oh oh! Now they’re back to Green Man weight! The Green Man is fast, even faster when you say...

Re: Wildly speculative talk about Asnes 21-22 lineup: Otto/FT62

I skiied thursday on 1-2inch fresh snow over a consolidated base...some areas have very heavy foot traffic (scarred with deel foot prints). It was very cold at 4F and very dry. Moderate/low angle. My 175cm Sverdrup was a dream. The conditions were easy enough that I could have used any ski...even t...

Re: Wildly speculative talk about Asnes 21-22 lineup: Otto/FT62

20211204_114030.jpg The snow was a bit tricky, about 20cm of semi crusty powder without a base. I hit some rocks on the first descents so I was very careful afterwards, and it was just a short tour with some steep narrow climbs. I waxed for the climbs (heel to 15cm in front of snakebite), this caus...

Re: Complete skiing. Near perfect continuity between flats, uphills and downhills.

The Vice is a powerful binding. If I was judging whether to put one on my son’s skis I would need to strongly consider how he falls. If he doesn’t pull into a cannonball position and roll until he slows momentum enough to slick an edge, pop back up, and continue skiing down the hill. He wouldn’t be...

Re: Swapping bindings - is it bad? is it hard?

Go for it. Plug the old holes using plastic plugs available at Tognar, or some other sort of plug. Polyurethane glue is helpful as it expands. Mount the new bindings. About 1cm distance from old holes is generally the rule, especially with alpine stuff, but you can go closer if you fill the other ho...
