Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

I'm going to be more bullish this year finding snow. I found a couple mile stretch in northern NH this morning. 5" of light fluff on asphalt. Some turns too. 205cm E99 pre -Xtralite was the weapon of choice this morning, though I think the MT51 would've been better (more power with the double camber...

Re: Ski Review: 2018-2019 Fischer Traverse 78

Note- Flexing my 78 again this evening (or should I say Rebecca's 78...)- I am reminded that- alhtough these are significantly cambered Nordic touring skis- they lack the very stiff resistance underfoot of skis like the E99/Gamme 54/Sverdrup. Both the Ingstad and the E109 are more resistant underfo...

Re: How messed up are my skis after this bungled mounting job

Speaking of bungled mountings jobs: I'd planned to put Magnums on S Bound Outabound 88s, and regular NNN BCs on Gammes. After I mounted the S Bounds, I realized I'd put the wrong ones on. However, funny thing is that although the S bounds' bases are wider, the mounting section is narrower than the ...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

It was a great way so spend Thanksgiving morning. Yes they have aluminum edges. I had my beer at the car and hoped the Fischer rep showed up so I could ask him if he had ever seen these skis. I got into it with a Fischer rep at a gas station once about the E99 and E109 and why so few in the N.A. ma...

Re: skis for 70+ and cautious

Don't go to snowshoes. :) I don't know what is best for you, but let me suggest being aware of the Altai Hok (short w/permanent half skins) -- a bit like a sliding snowshoe. https://us-store.altaiskis.com/product/hok-ski-updated-2016-copy-blank-skis/ There is deep, sage advice here. Every snowshoe ...

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Happy Thanksgiving to you Krummholz! That sure looked awesome! Just curious do your Europa have aluminum edges? I have a pair that I think are even older, just trying to get a clue how old. Sure does look like a great way to spend some time! The green ones are 1st gen. Yes, alu edges. The blue ones...

Re: Fischer Traverse 78s availability?

I would love to have others chime in here on your question. @Woodserson would be one… If you prefer a ski with good glide, don’t expect to do a lot of climbing, navigating tight tree, things that favor a shorter ski, and at your 200 pounds, I would think the longer ski would be a better fit. I am 1...

Is there any other difference between the old annum and new one besides length and different top sheet?
Don't know that will take real hands on work.

The Fischers yet, slightly. Mostly in weight, went to Xtralite construction. Madshus unclear.
