Re: Long lost footage of OLDSCHOOL47 ???
How funny! Thanks for posting. No independent leg action or balanced, fluid stance. Legs look rigid and appeared glued at the knees.

Re: Talk me out of wax skis (combat)
Insightful comments. With waxable skis you also have the option of using skins. Waxable skis are versatile.

Re: narrow xcd skis- to mount a riser or not- that is the question
I vote no on the risers, but my opinion probably isn't relevant because I am small, XX, different skeletal-muscular structure, weigh less, lower center of mass than the other people on this forum. I like being close to the snow even if I have drag from my 3-pin bindings. It's a matter of personal pr...

Re: When skiing was beautiful, an art, an expression of self..
Great photos! So much wisdom and talent on this forum. My goals are modest. I am happy if I have a day of skiing without injury and get back to the car to have another day. I ski alone most of the time, so I don't know if I have grace and smoothness in my skiing. I do know if I am not centered and f...

Very impressed! I am an un-techie (word?), somewhat of a luddite, minimalist XX being. Thanks for posting-appreciate your patience and hands -on ski tech skills.

Re: Paddling Biking Fishing Gardening
Thanks for posting. Appreciate hearing about off-season adventures and hobbies. Fly fishermen may be even more passionate about their sport than skiers? Here in Montana, Montana Backcountry Hunters and Anglers have been instrumental in conserving/preserving fish and wildlife habitat.

Re: Avalanche
I just noticed this. Thanks for posting this very detailed and disturbing account. Sad for the victim and his family. This is a reminder to me why I ski only low-angled terrain and stay out of run-out-zones and terrain traps. There is just too much variability in the snowpack; especially with the gr...

Re: How to tele: 3-pin only
I ski with plastic boots (old Scarpa T-3) and 3-pins with no cable on my Madshus Annum, Madshus Eon and Agnes Kongsvold. I use nnn bindings on my skinny/touring skis. I ski mostly powder and softer snow and tour/turn on low-angled terrain. I do alpine and telemark turns. Skiing on 3-pins really teac...

Re: Fischer BCX-5 or Alaska BC? Choose wisely
lilcliffy: Thanks! You saved me $249. I was about to buy the Alaska, but after reading your comment that they cannot drive the Annum when conditions are more marginal, I changed my mind. I guess I will stick with my old plastic boots. As always, there are trade-offs; a lighter boot probably means le...
