Re: Viability of Waxable Skis
I scape klister off with the aid of baby powder. If conditions are warm you don’t need to go beyond scraping unless you are going to apply a skin. In southern Michigan temperatures go up and down. I use citrus cleaner if it gets colder to prevent sticking If you find yourself skiing multiple kliste...

Re: Viability of Waxable Skis
It sounds like a kicker skin would be better for big swings in temperature during the course of the day.

Re: old wool pants for skiing
Wow, Woodserson Those look like the East German pants I bought from Coleman’s quite a few years ago. I liked the first pair so much I bought 2 more. One pair is still in the cellophane wrapper, one pair I wear to church on Sundays, when I going skiing immediately afterwards. The last pair are my reg...

Re: Good skis for Axl bindings
I don’t prefer fish scales at the resort, I don’t like the hum on piste. If you are talking about a resort ski, the choices are numerous. Re: XCd for kids
I like 75 mm cables for downhill oriented skiing, however the transition from cable to no cable can be a PITA for a full grown man, not something for a kid.
Without a cable attached to my heel, my Alaska BC (NNN BC) boot offers more downhill control than my Alaska 75.

Re: leg strength exercises
My work boots are heavy, my yard is big and I don’t use a rider, I fish the big water (Great Lakes) in a Hobie peddle kayak. Most of all I ski by myself mostly and I only have to keep up with myself. However I do XC ski with a friend whom is 10 years younger, runs, cuts even a bigger lawn, and peddl...
