Re: Complete skiing. Near perfect continuity between flats, uphills and downhills.
Adjustable poles are great. I will usually adjust them a few times on any tour, or even at a resort. Shorter for aggressive turning, longer for striding or touring. One of my sets of adjustable poles also has a secondary grip about three inches below the primary grip that I use for short sections, s...

Re: Leashes and ski brakes for 3-pins
I ski BC-125's with 3 pins and leather, but only for powder/off trail. On a groomed ski slope, you will do much better with a narrower ski. B and D (not BD) makes a nice leash.

Re: lead change question
IMO referring to "inside ski" and "outside ski" is much clearer and easy to understand, cause the inside ski stays inside throughout the entire turn, moving from uphill to downhill or vice versa. In a telemark turn, the outside ski leads, in a parallel alpine turn, the inside ski leads. Fake-a-mark ...

Re: Asnes Mountain Race 48 SKIN
The MR48 SKIN is really amazing at only 775g per ski at 200cm! (25% lighter than the Gamme!) Remember this is a wood core ski with ¾ steel edges, not a cheap Chinese noodle. Elsewhere you say you only use these for XC, not BC. They do appear made for BC, though. What do you see as the plus or minus...

Opinion on Skin Skis?
The new tech in nordic K&G is skin skis...rather than a fishscale pattern, a small patch of skin permanently affixed to the ski. Apparently, they are faster than fishscales. Anybody tried this? Is it just for track skiing or are there also skin skis that turn well on the downhill?

Re: Nnnbc magnum bindings on wide skis???
What do you mean by more stable flex? My undestanding is that skinny skis have evolved fairly recently to have significantly more flex in the tips to make quicker turning easier. True?

Re: Nnnbc magnum bindings on wide skis???
Having a light, nimble and tactile system that you can cover distance on and seamlessly tackle any uphill or downhill on, relying largely on finesse, is exhilarating. Invincible! Awesome description of how I feel. IMO you can ski a very wide ski with light bindings. I have had more fun with my Ross...

Re: Nnnbc magnum bindings on wide skis???
I LOVE NTN! ♥ In fact, I love every single flavors of free-heel skiing... Each of them have different feelings and different fun factors and rewards... Sweet! One could pick bones with how you slice the pie, but solid filling. My fishscale tours usually involve some of #3 and #4 and maybe a little ...
