Re: Replacing Madshus Epochs
Thanks. What binding and boot are you using with each ski? I have my Ingstads set up with Binding Freedom inserts in both the 3 pin and NNN BC pattern so can pretty easily switch between the 2. I usually just leave the NNN BC bindings on and ski with Alaska BC boots. For 3 pin, a pair of Rott Super...

Re: Replacing Madshus Epochs
I can't speak of the FT X. I have only seen and flexed a pair once in a shop. I can however offer my brief apples to apples comparison of the Epoch and Ingstad. Ingstad takes it for distance tours with turns. Fast and supportive in deep soft snow. Initiates turns easily but I have to work to hold it...

Re: Another Kom Binding Question
Thanks folks, helpful insights! I'm leaning towards the hardwire...wondered if anyone had a thought about mounting them flat (the way Altai mounts the 3-pin cable) vs with the risers? Having not seen the hardwires in person I was wondering if the cartridges were fat enough to interfere with the ski...

Re: Sealant/Glue for Bindings... and other mounting secrets.
Any other mounting tips before I take a drill to my Asnes FT62? Rottefella has a nice template you can print out and I'm an experienced screwer. :D I don't know what the recommended hole diameter or depth is for the Xplore binding screws but I really like drill bits like these for mounting: https:/...

Re: S-Bound 98 remount, forward or back?
I found a great deal on some used S-Bound 98's at a local used gear store. They are mounted with nnnbc bindings and I plan on remounting them with 3 pin cable bindings. Assuming they were originally mounted in the standard location, should I mount them forward or back from the original holes? I'm n...

Looks like you are in Boise. The big ski swap is coming up soon 11/4-6. Chances are pretty fair that you could find a pair there.

Re: Kick Wax on Alpine Skis
Thanks for the recommendations. The Rottefella Super Telemark with cables look pretty good. Is it true that the hardwires can be removed and replaced easily? If so that would be super helpful to improve kick and glide on the flats. Pretty simple to remove and reattach the hard wires. I usually leav...
