Re: Meidjo 3 Vs. Outlaw X

Now I’m sure I’m off topic! 1. My M Cross skis have a mounting point that is a bit further back, compared to some of my other skis and I'll review that ski, but I am considering moving the mount fwd 1cm on those using inserts. 2. Regarding the butt over the rear boot, I think my technique pref...

Re: Meidjo 3 Vs. Outlaw X

This is interesting on a few different levels. (I’m reading this post, and realize it’s sort of off-topic — sorry.) 1. In the pictures, it looks like there is more bend in the bellows / BoF with the OX — and with less angle of boot sole to ski. That makes me think that, in the case you show here, th...

Re: I need a lift ski.

@John Dee, I ski those RS 96s with Meidjo NTN, TX Pro.
I would think too much ski for the boots and bindings you have.
Especially on hard snow.

Re: Joining NATO

It seems to me that there is so much that goes on behind the scenes that it's hard to have a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics, and be able to project short, medium, and long-term outcomes. But, one though I have is that we tend to see things from the perspective of the rear view mirror. T...

PXL_20240115_174630547.jpg My Mom and I went to the local ski area today and she tried out some super wide Rossignol S7s that we mounted with targas for my sister A family that telemarks together… super cool! I was skiing some 118s UF yesterday and they were great sidecountry and a lot to push arou...

Re: Xplore experience - Alfa Free and Pioneer Pro

Brynski , what a terrific post! Articulate, well thought out, informative. Thanks for including boot size — I think it matters when thinking about the different Xplore flexors. For me, in size 47 Free, and based on very limited experience, the hard flexor didn’t seem to bother me climbing and seeme...

Re: Mounting XPlore Bindings?

Stupid short screws that come with the Xplore binding… And yeah, those holes look like they may have been drilled over sized. If you decide to remount with longer screws, there is the trick of warming the screws you want to remove enough to soften the epoxy, so they come out without pulling some of ...

Re: How do you even go uphill?...

fisheater has an interesting theory about skis “bridging” pressure / weight out to the ends of the skis in certain snow conditions (in this case, ends that have glide wax on them), and the additional dynamic of the upturned arc of the ski at the shovel effectively having to climb a steeper slope an...

Re: How do you even go uphill?...

@sheep, can you post any pictures of the terrain you are skiing?
That might help.
And what about @lilcliffy’s idea of looking for some local help?
It’s Finland, after all!
