Re: New Asnes skis for the 2017-2018 season!
Now the Ingstad is just as light as Fischer's E109. You can choose which option you prefer. Ingstad looks a lot happier in the picture too! Hoping that the new Ingstad is more stable in deep snow than the current E109... Another good change - they got rid of the little black knob on the topsheets a...

Re: Nordic backcountry setup for above treeline
After your mention of compressing the camber, we did the 'paper test', and found that the paper is just able to pass under when the skis are evenly loaded, but not when only one ski takes the load. Whereas when I just walked and stepped on them evenly, my weight was too much and the paper didn't pa...

Re: How short for Glittertind?
I had two pairs of Alpina Discovery skis... They are the stiffest skis I have ever seen... Seriously, they are stiffer than my downhill world-cup titanium racing skis... I will never understand what are their primary use. Simply put, they are WC downhill racing skis, with scales. :? Wow! I have nev...

Re: New Asnes skis for the 2017-2018 season!
I couldn't read Anses site in Norwegian. I know I can log on in English on my computer, but I couldn't get there with my phone. Has a change been announced in the Ingstad? The Tonje is a women's ski only available up to 185 cm. I can't imagine Lilcliffy skiing a 185, so what gives??? Try Google Tra...

Re: How short for Glittertind?
Has Madshus updated any of their backcountry Nordic touring skis- other than names and or topsheets? I have put some miles on the blue Glitt- the previous model to current. I wasn't aware that they had changed the flex/camber of the current model? What I can say is the recent blue Glit is most defin...

Re: Vector replacement- ideas? V6/UltraVector something else?
Hey Woods- It has been almost twenty years since I needed/wanted to be up to date on this class of ski... What I have observed/experienced is that as the " T elemark" boot-binding tech has advanced, it has become "easier" to drive skis with a flex that used to be beyond the reach of an equally-weigh...

Sounds like you definitely need a longer 1550... I don't know if it is safe to assume that a 43EU 1550 has the same footbed length as a 43EU Alaska... I would hope so- Euro sizes are "supposed" to be consistent- but I have had some experiences with Rossi NNN boots that did not have consistent EU siz...
