Thinking of pulling the trigger on some Traverse 78s (from Telemark Pyrenees - is that place legit?)
I almost got some gear from them - everything I've heard supports that they are legit - but ended up getting stuff from these guys in Cow Hampshire.

Re: Rossignol Experience 84 AI initial impressions

Here's an indication of how tight they carve a turn, if anyone is considering this ski. I'm sure you could crank out even tighter turns on harder snow. By the end of last year, these were my go to bump skis, over the Vantage 85's unless there was more than just a couple of inches of new snow. https:...

"SkiwithUrmas" has 12 videos on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/SkiWithUrmas/videos Here's his instructional DVD, but I haven't watched it: https://skiwithurmas.com/instructional-dvd/ I'm not familiar with the other movies you mentioned. There are a bunch of short clips on the Freeheellife sit...

But, I've been drinking more bourbon. For strength and health! New username? Yeah, I got hacked at my old email address, couldn't remember my password because I shifted from Telemark Talk to MTBR over the summer and can't figure out how to get back on as MSU Alum. Old....Check! Forgetful.....Check!...

Re: Season passes and Covid 19

The Epic Pass has a pretty good "insurance" policy. I got the Park City pass (Epic. If you're either retired military or a veteran, they have really good prices - retired is $129) and a Deer Valley pass (Ikon) which is half price over 65. I'm not sure what the insurance is on that. It doesn't much m...

Re: Share your Pre Season, work out routines

I just mountain bike. I also kayak, which really builds core strength. I'm 68, 5'9" tall and 160 pounds, live at about 6400 feet and managed over 150,000 feet of climbing this summer maxing out at just over 11,000' and 1200 miles of mountain biking on northern Utah and Moab dirt. That's about what I...

Re: 75mm or NTN for a rookie

Okay, I'll take that into consideration. What would be a good length on the skis when I am 183 cm? I think that depends on the ski and your conditions. I'm 175cm tall and 72 Kg (before the Halloween candy) and live and ski in the Wasatch (Utah) and also have a quiver of skis for resort and "side co...

Re: 75mm or NTN for a rookie

Regarding choosing between NTN and 75mm, for downhill oriented skiing: If you are new to skiing without having your heel held down - haven't telemark skied, or transitioning from alpine skiing - I think there are significant advantages to starting on 75mm. One of the important techniques to master, ...
