I guess that the brake stay with the ski if the Voile releases but if the 2 pins let go you need the leash. Strange bulge in the front of that onesie. Maybe he has skins in there.

Yes that works. The threads on hardwire rods are the same as the pivot rods used in OMG TTS and others. I have a bunch of those parts. Binding freedom. I modified a flat screwdriver that holds them nicely and give lots of feel when you screw the insert into the prepped hole. It’s not hard to cross thread in a soft core I say from experience.

Orings wear out and would need to be replaceable over the life of a very expensive boot. I hope they have not gone that way.

Looks like you have moved beyond this but it's worth the comment that the ski tech I most respect will not drill within 2 cm of an existing hole. That seems extreme and I have violated it but there it is.

I like inserts a lot.
