Re: Wildly speculative talk about Asnes 21-22 lineup: Otto/FT62

So I take this to mean that a 200cm Otto would perform probably about the same as the 205 Ingstad. To be equally wildly speculative- I doubt very much that the Sverdrup will be stable in deep snow- I am expecting the Sverdrup ski to have a relatively soft and flexible shovel and tail... Reasoning- ...

Re: Crusty

Just as a note Transplantskier- Woodserson just recommended the Ingstad over the Nansen as well to Fisheater in the adjacent active thread.

Boot Review- Long-Term Test- Alaska BC-Guard BC-Svartisen BC

Boot Review- Long-Term Test: Alpina Alaska BC, Alfa Guard Advance GTX BC, Crispi Svartisen GTX BC What follows are my notes, thoughts and perspectives on three fantastic backcountry-cross-country ski boots- each with NNNBC outsoles: - 2013 Alpina Alaska BC - 2018 Crispi Svartisen GTX BC - 2018 Alfa...

What really puzzles me, is why this review got published at all, as the binding and boots used in the "test" were not even close to the models we have been testing after new years.
Thank you for the clarification- this is exactly what I suspected.

Re: Amundsen or Gamme?

BTW- the fact that you are considering the USGI ski suggests that waxless is not critical for this ski?

Re: Amundsen or Gamme?

Also- how much of an issue is breakable crust in your context? I ask this because- aside from breakable crust- the Ingstad BC is the ski you are looking for. It actually isn't that big of an issue, but when it is, it is a big one. I'm very curious what the Ingstad offers in this context. The curren...

Re: The new Rottefella XPLORE OFFTRACK Binding System Review

I only have been able to source black and red flexors. Is the Xplore going to use the same color system for their flexors? Are the white X flexors as stiff as the NNN-BC flexors? Also, do you have any spare white NNN-BC flexors? I've never skied the whites. I used to buy mine at Akers and Nordic Sk...

Re: Ski recommendation

The current Ingstad and the Combat Nato are VERY different skis. Yes- they share a similar sidecut profile- that is the only thing that they share in terms of overall geometry, flex pattern and stiffness. Even the shape and profile of the tip is different between these two skis. Where the confusion ...

Re: What is the best replacement ski for the Karhu 10th Mtn or Madshus Epoch?

As a follow up, what is your collective experience w/ intelligrip skins vs fish scales? I've only ever used fish scales, but am interested to know how they compare to the intelligrip skins. Kicker skins almost always offer better grip than scales- there are some conditions where scales are almost a...

Re: Amundsen or Gamme?

I am curious as to whether the Asnes Sverdrup ski will be stable in deep soft snow- I kinda doubt it- If the Sverdrup has the camber and stiffness underfoot that Asnes is describing- as in it is stiffer and more cambered underfoot than the Ingstad BC- yet it will be as playful and turnable as the Na...
