Thanks to Johnny for lending the skis! I managed to take out MsBri7 in the woods for the first time ever (and she actually liked it!)

I ski solo a lot and also a lot with SO and enjoy it immensely, but honestly, I prefer the company of a ski buddy when skiing.

I mostly ski solo, but enjoy skiing with others (including my 33 yo daughter and sometimes her SO), no local partner yet.
My wife is an indoor person.

I've only been skiing on weekends this season due to work, and my wife is my go to partner unless we're not speaking.

Previously I didn't work winters and went solo about 50% of the time.

I just realized that besides my wife I only know one other telemarker, and he has artificial hips among other physical problems that limit his skiing. He takes excellent photos though.

My wife kicked ass XCD with leather boots, but since she got her Vectors she prefers her T2s if there is going to be any turning. The vectors were a game changer for her, before she got them she hated touring in plastic boots. Now we are on the same page as far as the kind of turn oriented tours I prefer.

I ski alone, yeah
With nobody else
I ski alone, yeah
With nobody else
You know when I ski alone
I prefer to be by myself

Every morning just before breakfast
I don't want no coffee or tea
Just me and my Boundless waxers
That's all I ever need
'Cause I tour alone, yeah
With nobody else
Yeah, you know when I tour alone
I prefer to be by myself

The other night I lay sleeping
And I woke from a terrible dream
So I called up my old pal Fischer
And his partner Glitterteen
And we skied alone, yeah
With nobody else
Yeah, you know when I ski alone
I prefer to be by myself

The other day I got invited to a party
But I hit the mountains instead
Just me and my pal Swix Blue
And his brothers Green and Red
And we tour alone
Yeah, with nobody else
Yeah, you know when I tour alone
I prefer to be by myself

My whole family done give up on me
And it makes me feel my troubles
The only ones who will hang out with me
Are my dear old Alico doubles
And we ski alone, yeah
With nobody else
Yeah, you know when I ski alone
I prefer to be by myself

I ski alone. The last partner (moved) I had was many years ago when I skied in avalanche terrain. Now my focus is low angle (less then 30 degrees) and I stay out of run-out zones. I enjoy skiing solo because I like the solitude, quiet, observing nature (e.g., wildlife tracks), assessing terrain and navigating (compass, map, altimeter). I think skiing alone has helped me develop better outdoor skills and forced me to be more attentive.
