Catskills/CNY Skiing?
Catskills/CNY Skiing?
Anybody lurking from that area know if there's anything skiable (perhaps this weekend)?
Re: Catskills/CNY Skiing?
Have you looked at recently closed ski areas?
It's a lot of fun and may be the best snow conditions

Half the binding, twice the fun!!
Re: Catskills/CNY Skiing?
I just looked actually.
Windham is closed but I don't know if they have anyone eyeing it for poachers. Hunter has a strict no uphill after season policy, so I don't think I'd risk it unless I was with someone in the know.
Was just thinking of doing some trail skiing. There is a network of trails in Elm Ridge Wild Forest that look pretty nice. Never been, but I know people that bike there in the summer and they like them.
Hunter reports 9" but I looked on their web cams and that looks optimistic. WIndham is a little farther north and they report less snow, but it looks like more is forecasted - perhaps another 8". Not sure if they'll get rain though between now and then.
I actually don't know this area well at all. I've been down that way, and not even that far southeast, I think once, maybe twice.
