Vector BC vs V6 BC ??
Has anyone skied both of these? I'm most interested to know which one 'skis longer' -- as in length. I have a pair of Vector BC in 170 length, which I feel ski a bit short for me. However, I don't know if I want to blow $500 just to find out if the 180's would work better for me.
I was looking at the V6 BC, and it seems to be a different design. Maybe it's a bit stiffer? Would the V6 in 173 feel any longer than a Vector in 170? I suspect about the same, but I haven't even seen a V6, so have no idea...
thanks to all

Hey - sorry no response to this but we did have some discussion related to this and there is a review of the V6.

That discussion turns quickly to comparing to Voile.
And the review that was posted earlier this year:

Re: Vector BC vs V6 BC ??
Thanks, that's pretty much what I was hoping to find. Seems the V6 has a bit more sidecut, is a bit heavier and stiffer too. Maybe the tip rocker's different, nobody seems to know. I might call up the Voile shop and see if they can tell me.
Dostie over at EarnYourTurns.com mentioned that he preferred the Vectors with bindings mounted 1 or 2 cm further back than he'd normally place them. That might be what I need to do. So I bought a pair of B&D's Shift Plates so that I can try my pair out with the bindings moved back 1 cm or 2 cm. If they work better with the bindings moved back, then I'll plug the old holes and drill new holes for the more aft position. Some may find the shift plates to be a little pricey, but having a pair will allow me to experiment with binding placements, getting the best spot in no more than two tries. I think it's worth it to have a pair.

Re: Vector BC vs V6 BC ??
I allready have the vectors and am considering a fatter ski to round out my quiver with a modern ski, so i'm deciding between the V8s or the chargers. As far as your situation, where will these skis fit in your quiver? If they will be your fattest ski I would lean towards the V6 but if you have something fatter I think the Vector is a little more versatile being narrower. Depending on what boot and binding combo you have, a couple mm difference underfoot in the 95 to 100mm range makes a big difference on firm snow.
Let us know what Voile says about the skis.

While I haven't skied the V8s, the Chargers are my personal favorite Voile ski. Unfortunately, they are now discontinued and replaced with the Superchargers, which are apparently misnamed (at least that's how it seems if you read Voile's description of them). So I picked up a pair of Charger BCs off the sale rack.
