Well- my current conclusions about breaking trail in that shit:

1) full-length stability.
2) kick-ass trail-breaking tip
3) kicker-skin as needed

As far as waxless scales versus waxable base...The snow underneath our breakable crust has been very cold, granular and icy- none of the waxless scales I currently have work give enough traction on that icy refrozen snow...Kick wax/klister and kicker skin.

Aside from that- I do wish that my E-99 Crowns had the Easy-Skin attachment as well...
Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.
