Pulk Options

The amount of pulk options out there is fairly overwhelming. I'm curious about the DIY options out there, as well as pulks that you bought (especially in Canada). I believe Polar Supplies is an Ottawa-based company that sells Aiguille pulks. Any other Canadian companies you are aware of? I'd like to make or get a pulk for next season (winter camping in the foothills of the Rockies, so side-hilling will be frequent. I'd also like to take my nephew at the local xc trails).

From looking at different forums and info from Ed the pulk man, it appears that longer is better for tracking and stability. What about plastic versus fibreglass? UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) versus HDPE (High Density Poly)?

I'm not Arctic circle navigator, but my Paris Exp. sled works good here in NH towing in on Forest roads. Rides nice behind, light and smooth. I went all ghetto with mine, my friend got better hardware off skipulk.com, but at the end of the day they do the same thing.
