I ask that because I find out they ship for free in Canada, even skis, and I have a hard time not thinking there is a catch... maybe not but it seems to good to be true ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

It looks like they operate a rental and shop in Åre which is scandinavias largest ski resort about 2.5 hours driving from here. Doesn't look like a scam. But to be honest I never heard of them until today (shipments to Norway are taxed 25% VAT at customs so i seldom buy abroad).

Thanks. I just wonder how they can afford the shipping? Maybe the price on the website is higher when you enter the website from another countryRoelant wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 5:03 pmIt looks like they operate a rental and shop in Åre which is scandinavias largest ski resort about 2.5 hours driving from here. They don't have to charge VAT (20%?) when selling to customers outside of the EU. They probably get a discount with the shipping company, too.Nitram Tocrut wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 7:59 pmThanks. That means shipping products above a certain price point to North America might be more profitable than a local sale, since they get to keep the difference between VAT and shipping cost.

The mystery behind shipping cost... free from Sweden (not for everything I know...) but order from the states just South of the border and it might cost so much it renders it not attractive for us.... and there is a free trade agreement between our countriesriel wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 10:57 pm

So if you are living in North America and looking for the evasive Asnes skis go have a look on their website, they have a really good selection

Don't know about that particular vendor, but I've ordered stuff from Norway or Sweden with lower shipping cost, and faster delivery, than some U.S, companies.

I hadn't seen that web store until now either, probably it is recently set up. Just received some Åsnes X-skin mix from them - that went very smoothly (but then I also live in Stockholm...). So maybe contact and confirm that free shipping deal, and if there are any tolls och custom payments needed for international shipping, and I guess it could be a good solution!

Prices seem equivalent to Sport Albert in $CAN.
But if shipping is truly free- great pricing!
I am going to email them and see if they will ship a 270cm Metsa...![Uber Geek :ugeek:](./images/smilies/icon_e_ugeek.gif)

Cross-country AND down-hill skiing in the backcountry.
Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.
