NTN mounting for rockered skis

Post by colliseumj » Fri Aug 18, 2023 4:12 pm

just picked up some Surface New Life's. These are a rockered, twin tip ski - I'm planning on mounting NTN's on them. I've mounted NTN's a few times before and still have the direction sheets. I'm wondering if there are any issues specific to rockered boards. Anyone have any words of advice?

Ski manufacturer recommendations? Foot size (small, normal, or excessively long) might influence whether you stick with the recommendation or mount a bit further back.

Boot center on ski manufacture’s recommended point for tail rocker skis. Flat tail I go back 2cm but that’s just me. There’s a good binding mounting podcast on Free Heel Life podcast #157. Thanks for the telebulldogs tip too.
Cheers

The folks at Freeheel Life in Salt Lake recommend boot center over manufacturer's recommended. I know some here with really big feet like to mount aft a bit. I'm size 9 and have skis in various degrees of rocker from 164cm (90 mm underfoot) to 185cm (and 116 underfoot) and all are mounted boot center over the recommended spots with NTN with good results.
