Oldest skis ever found.
No shortage of rocker and splay!!
Rocker is fundamental to skis irrespective of marketing gimmicks.

Awesome.

And here's the first pictorial representation of a skier.

Image
It's from the Bølarein Park in Trøndelag. I'm pretty sure this is the oldest picture of anyone on skis.

Pretty good posture. 6,000 years old.

Interesting tips on these. No idea what he was using as grip wax, but my money's on sealskin.

(This isn't the best image of the skier, but for some reason it's really hard to find good ones. It's a really important image in one of the most incredible rock art sites in northern Europe).

If he's 6,000 years old he was probably in plastics and ultra-wide planks.

It seems that I'm not the only one wrong on the internet using the term full camber... :ugeek:

https://www.sport-conrad.com/blog/en/fl ... ht-for-me/
https://skiprofiles.com/ski-camber-expl ... our-style/
https://www.snowsportsguru.com/ski-camb ... explained/
https://www.mechanicsofsport.com/skiing ... mbers.html
https://www.nevasport.com/skines/art/33 ... -CAMBER-O/

It may be ambiguous, yes, but from all the characteristics of the camber of a ski, it's length is the only one that can reach a very distinguishable maximum, isn't it?

And some even suggest that skis with no rocker may exist!! :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek:
