Bent 100 or 110

Post by ColeLWN » Mon Dec 11, 2023 3:39 am

Stumped between the bent 100 and 110 for telemark.
Ski all mountain west coast. Ski all conditions. Want a ski that will shred moguls crud and pow. Don’t know between the two which would be best. Is a wider ski harder for tele?

For moguls, 100 would be better, just based on width. For heavy powder 110 would be better, but I'd guess that the disadvantage of 110 in moguls would outweigh advantages in powder. As long as you have enough boot to comfortably handle 100, the additional 5mm on either side of the ski won't make tely harder.

You might want to take a look at reviews on skieesentials or a similar site. It could be that the differences between the 100 and 110 go beyond width alone.

I ride the Bent 100s. I find the flotation to be good in powder, though I haven't yet tried them in truly deep pow. Those HRZN Tech tips are not just a gimmick IMO.

No problem driving the 100s with Meidjos, though on groomers 100 feels like the limit, at least for me. 110 sounds fat to me for resort skiing, but maybe that is just preference. I grew up skiing on much, much narrower skis (and no sidecut!).
