Making 3d printed parts

I don't post much here, but I 3D print my TTS pivot blocks and crampon brackets out of aluminum, and my heel pads, heel throws, bellows guards, and various other small parts out of nylon. I've posted about these projects in more detail on BC Talk.

Is that an NNNBC with cables? Since NNNBC boots don’t generally come with cable compatible boots, how do you modify the heel to accept a heel-throw?

TTS. I use Trab TR2 toes on my heavier skis for DIN releasability, and Trab Gara Titan toes on my lightweight rigs.

That's a cool set up @jtb . What can you say about the releaseability of the Trab toe? I'm using a Plum toe with Voile Transit. It's 'releasable' but certainly not to any DIN standard. Releasability is a big concern for me because my knees are already compromised.

The TR2 toe has always released when I needed it to, but in a TTS setup it will also pre-release in some circumstances if you ski hard. It's an unfortunate side effect of the real heel connection and lack of torsional rigidity in the hardwire spring setup. A 2nd heel connection or a stiffer frame between the pivot and heel would help this situation, but at a significant cost to tourability. Jasonq over at BCTalk has built a binding with a TR2 toe and second heel connection that should have better retention/release characteristics.

I've been skiing these almost 4 years in both the resort and backcountry so I know the scenarios in which they pre-release and am able to avoid them with technique. I will lock out the toes in extremely high-consequence terrain if conditions are variable and I might encounter a pre-release scenario.
