Boot centre

Post by twopass » Wed Feb 21, 2024 9:10 pm

T4's size 27 sole length 315mm. Vertical line on boot instep approx 155mm, arrow or "A" at 160mm.
315/2=157~
Which mark is supposed to be boot centre?

I think it designates "adult" sizing. I don't see why telemark boots have it, but I think boot/binding compatibility regarding DIN settings and releasability in alpine skiing, is different in sizing for adults (A) Vs. children (which would have a "C" next to the vertical mark). My understanding is that the vertical mark is the designation for the boot center, not the letter next to it.

I saw a discussion where one participant thought the line was boot center, but the "A" was where you want to measure because A stands for awesome.

A better source would be to call a ski shop and ask them. My knowledge is pretty sketchy on this.

I personally don’t believe 1/2 centimeter makes that much of a difference. I do believe 3 centimeters makes a difference

Yeah, I moved my bindings forward 3.8 cm, because that's the distance between screw holes on the Outlaw X which made moving the binding easy. I think they ski better, but mostly I was surprised at how subtle the difference was.

"A" for awesome. Ha, that's funny.
Yeah 3cm do make diff. Turns out Targas and then 3pin Hrdwr's in same holes were mounted 3.5cm back.
These are old low km Hagen Freeride Tours going to get some O2's to use them on light snow lift days because turny/fun.

Actually 1/4 cm, from 15.75 (actual boot center) to either 15.5 or 16.0. Even less reason to be concerned.
